What work is needed in an ornamental garden from spring to spring

Finally, an endless series of works related to the construction of a summer house, laying septic tanks and pipes, digging pits for various structures necessary for life in a house has been completed. Paths and drains are made. An alpine slide was created and planted. Trees and shrubs are planted. You can feel the youth of the plants, but the site already looks beautiful, well-groomed, pleasing to the eye and gratifying pride. But how long is it? What's next?

Care, of course. It seems to be simple. Mow lawns, cut hedges, water the flowers, and meditate on an alpine hill. Having mowed lawns once, twice, three times and left for a couple of weeks, you missed the time of the next mowing, and then you got tired of the lodged grass. And then you start to think: maybe entrust this business to someone else? Yes, and the wife does not feel the joy of weeds from nowhere. Go pick them all. Moreover, top dressing is needed for the same lawn and shrubs. How to feed when it is better? And in general, a lot of problems arise. How to solve them? It's good if the wife has a special education or just a huge fanatical desire to work on the site and read special literature.

Or the owner's desire to tinker with plants has turned from a hobby into a mania. Besides, say, there is a lot of free time. And if it is not? Of course, then you need to hire a gardener. There are several methods and approaches to this problem. You can hire a neighbor with a scythe-Lithuanian. You can agree with his wife about weeding, and the site will look more or less well-groomed. But the lawns are not very even, the plants develop a little differently than in the bright pictures in those magazines for which the dacha-dream was planned, and there are still a lot of questions about care. After all, at least half of the plants that appeared in your garden were never seen by the neighbors who grew up under Soviet rule. And even more so they do not know how to look after them.

Therefore, it makes sense to hire a specialist. Through friends, through ads. Of course, even here there remains the risk of running into a false specialist, but even elementary control over his work, taking into account the knowledge gained from special literature on landscape design, will help to quickly bring him to clean water.

True, here the question arises about the equipment necessary for care (lawn mowers, trimmers, sprayers, delimbers, pruners, etc.). As a rule, a private gardener does not have his own tool. And it is quite expensive. And so you have to buy it all. In addition, it has been noticed that people, as a rule, treat other people's instruments differently from their own. To sharpen the blade, lubricate the springs, and change the oil on time, not to mention just cleaning the equipment after work - all this, as a rule, is not done. You can ask the gardener about this, but most often the answer will be: "I am not a mechanic or a sharpener." Therefore, these operations will have to be taken over. Also a headache.

What to do in this case? Hire a company to care for the garden. Moreover, it is desirable the one that built your site. During the year, all defects in paving and drainage appear. In addition, flaws will creep out with the preparation of the soil and the selection of plants. She, as they say, and cards in hand to eliminate all the shortcomings.

Well, if you hire another company, then

be prepared that they will demand money from you for the entrance preparation on the site, and no one will bear responsibility for the plants planted by another company in the first year. But if you still make such a decision, then many of the above problems will immediately disappear.

The firms have specialists: dendrologists, agronomists, mechanics and many others. In addition, there are people who understand lawns, flower beds, shrubs, and trees. After all, as a rule, there are no universal specialists who know all the problems well, and firms have the opportunity to use the knowledge and work of many people. In addition, your site will be serviced by a complex team in which different people have different functions. There are specialists for working with a lawn mower, with a trimmer, for cutting hedges. Probably, there will be a phytopathologist who will be able to notice the appearance of a disease on plants in time and will be able to correctly prevent it.

Of course, company maintenance of the garden is the most expensive option of all the proposed ones, but the benefits of quality care can sufficiently compensate for the problems that may arise with insufficient and superficial care. And financial losses in this case will be incommensurate with the costs that you will incur without hiring competent specialists.

At the end of this conversation about summer cottage problems and their resolution, I will give a list of those works that need to be performed on the site during the season, starting in spring. Here is a rough list of them:

Spring work in the garden and vegetable garden

Forming the crown of trees; cleaning fallen leaves; combing the lawn and sowing grass seeds on it; straightening sagging areas of the lawn; pruning frozen branches of trees and shrubs; cleaning flower beds from fallen leaves and dead leaves; removal of shelters from roses, grapes and other thermophilic crops; soil mulching; feeding plants with a complex of mineral fertilizers with micro- and macroelements; disease and pest control; planting and replanting trees, shrubs, flowers.

Summer work in the garden and vegetable garden

Planting and replanting annual and perennial flowers; a set of measures to combat plant diseases and pests; regular feeding of plantations and lawns with a summer complex of organo-mineral fertilizers; regular lawn mowing - at least once every 1-2 weeks, depending on the weather and the composition of the lawn grass; weeding of plantings from weeds; breaking off the edge on lawns; plucking faded flowers and plucking young shoots; cutting hedges - at least twice a season; cutting of wild animals from fruit crops and roses; garter of vines.

Autumn work in the garden and vegetable garden

A set of measures to combat diseases and pests; regular feeding of plants with an autumn complex of organo-mineral fertilizers; lawn mowing; harvesting annual flowers; planting bulbous crops; planting and replanting perennial flowers, trees and shrubs; foliage cleaning; shelter for roses and other heat-loving plants; tying plants with rodent and bird nets; whitewashing of tree trunks.

Winter garden work

Tying coniferous plants to prevent crumbling of the crown from snow; January-February - shelter of plants from spring sunburn; regular trampling of snow near the boles of fruit trees. And let this sad list of works not scare you and discourage you from constantly maintaining the site in order!
