When choosing bridges, consider your capabilities and your style

In Western European countries and here, bridges with a less extreme bend are chosen. Typically, these bridges are decorated with unusual design of side rails or railings. Some are quite simple, others have openwork carved or molded decorations.

The bridge is a surprisingly convenient occasion for introducing unexpectedly bold colors into the landscape. Japanese-style wooden bridges are often described and depicted with a distinctive reddish-orange color scheme. In Europe and Russia, bluish green and white paints are popular for attractive bridge coatings. Usually, the wooden floor of the bridge is not painted, because constant walking on it quickly erases the paint. In addition, the unpainted floor provides a pleasant contrast to the painted parts. In general, the bridge appears to be floating in the air above the water.
