Fishing Academy

At the time of my youth, when there were still a lot of fish, and there were not too many fishermen, the lovers of angling were respectful enough to each other. Each of them, of course, tried not to interfere with his brother as much as possible. This was especially evident in winter.

Yes, and then they caught on simple gear, often made by hand. It is a completely different matter now … Modern tackle, new more and more sophisticated fishing methods, an incredible number of artificial decoys inevitably lead to the rapid extermination of fish. The aggravating lack of fish and the constantly deteriorating ecological situation in the vast majority of water bodies - all this taken together leads to the fact that fishing is getting poorer every year. Hence the inevitable conclusion: the smaller the fish, the more difficult it is to catch it. Which, in turn, gives rise to envy of those who know how to do it better than others …

And this unattractive human feeling is especially evident in winter fishing. If in the summer the fisherman can hide from prying eyes in the bushes, on the island, retire on a boat, then in the winter all the fishing brothers, as they say, are in plain sight. As soon as some fisherman finds a "cool" place, envious people will immediately surround it with a dense ring. And then fishing will turn out according to the principle: nobody, nothing. To avoid this development of events, the angler needs a good camouflage. And disguise is not in order to be invisible to the fish, but in order not to become a victim of envious people. Otherwise, if you find or accidentally stumble upon a school or school of fish, you run the risk very quickly, and most importantly, end up fishing without results. Since competitors, if they do not catch the fish, they will certainly scare it away …

How, being in an open space, that is, on ice, become, if not invisible, then at least be invisible to others? Since it happens in winter, the hat, jacket, gloves and fishing box should be light colors, or even better - white. Against the background of white snow on the shore, ice covered with white snow, such an angler will not attract undue attention to himself. Especially if he is at a sufficient distance from the main crowd. However, when you are surrounded by "comrades-in-arms" in the fishing shop, there is always a high probability that any manipulation associated with the caught fish will definitely be noticed by someone's keen eye. The first thing that can attract the attention of envious people is sweeping. Therefore, it must be lightning fast. Moreover, you cannot make sudden movements either with your hand or with your body. And if you're lucky, and a fish on a hook, a very crucial moment comes: playing.

According to the overwhelming majority of practicing anglers, the most subtle way of playing is as follows … When playing, the fishing line is wound around the right hand. The rod is not released from the hand, but turns with a whip in the opposite direction (to the angler). The left hand is actually not needed for playing and only serves to deflect the line in case of strong jerks of the caught fish. In this case, the line is passed between the fingers of the left hand. Your elbows should be on your knees at all times. If there are several anglers facing you or there are those who are constantly watching the neighbors, then you can not lean towards the hole. This will be an additional signal that can raise suspicion. Therefore, you should try to take the fish with your hand right in the hole, covering it with the back of your hand.

A special stage is laying the fish. Remember that in no case should you leave it on the ice for a second, as well as put it in the drawer on which you are sitting. After all, for this you have to stand up to raise the lid. Be sure: this maneuver will immediately lead to the fact that you will very quickly find yourself in a dense ring of envious people with all the ensuing baneless consequences. The safest way to hide the fish is in a container such as a bucket, box or bag. It so happens that you are away from the main body of fishermen, but you see a group of fishermen heading in your direction. What can you do so that they do not stop near you? After all, it is possible that one of them noticed that you are lucky. Of course, it is very difficult to convince them that your success is pure coincidence, but you should still try …

Take the jig (spoon) out of the hole and complain sadly: they say, the fish has moved away, and therefore there is no bite. You can defiantly raise an empty tackle over the hole several times: they say, I try to catch, but to no avail. A very effective measure against aliens is to put two or three tiny fish near the hole (you can even bring them with you). This proven and very effective technique works flawlessly …

At the sight of competitors who have approached, you can spread your arms to the sides, making it clear with all kinds that you are in complete break. The worst option is if curious anglers are approaching you and you have a successful hooking at this time. Do not be greedy and do not play your prey. Wait for the ill-wishers to pass by. It is possible that the fish will get off the hook during this time. Don't be upset. Fishing does not end there: the rest of the fish is below you. However, when you call for the decency of others, you yourself behave with dignity. Don't get too close to the lucky angler. Do not follow the example of the worst manifestation of human envy. And then fishing will be a joy not only for you, but also for others. Always try to keep this in mind.
