Fishing tales
That sunny frosty morning did not bite at all. However, several dozen fishermen who had gathered on the lake were vigilantly watching each other, hoping to spot the lucky one and quickly join him.
The monotony of waiting was broken by an elderly man who had just appeared in a patched quilted jacket. Businesslike looking around, he settled down about thirty meters from me. Without haste, I prepared the tackle, drilled a hole, lowered the jig into it. Less than half an hour later he began to fish for perches one after the other.
“Look, the old man is carrying perches,” said the guy in the fur jacket, who was located not far from me. And, after a pause, he added: “I’ll probably go and see what he is catching at.
Unable to bear it, I followed him. There were six such curious people. At first we silently watched the fisherman. And only when he caught another "minke", the young man standing opposite me politely asked:
- Tell me, please, what do you put the jigs on the hook?
- Like what? - the lucky fisherman was surprised, - of course, bloodworms, - and he opened the box lying next to him. For clarity, I took a bloodworm from there, put it on a hook and lowered the tackle into the hole.
We froze in anticipation: it was very interesting why no one has bites on bloodworms, but does he? Time passed, and the nod never even moved. We looked at each other in surprise, not understanding what was the matter.
Our doubts were dispelled by a fisherman in a quilted jacket:
- Perch, men, schooling fish, and, apparently, the school has left for another place. Let's wait, maybe it will appear. We did not wait for a bite, and therefore gradually dispersed.
After a while, the fisherman in the quilted jacket started biting again. We exchanged glances with a neighbor, and he slowly walked towards the lucky angler. I approached him from behind and, not reaching him a few meters, stopped and froze. And only when a fisherman in a quilted jacket pulled out another perch, my neighbor quickly approached him, looked over his shoulder and exclaimed loudly:
- What a scoundrel you are, father!
“So this new joint came up,” the fisherman assured him just as loudly.
- What a jamb if you told us that you put bloodworms on the hook, but in fact you are using burdock moth!
Hearing this, I immediately realized that a fisherman in a quilted jacket was catching perch on a jig with a burdock moth attachment, and he was biting. But as soon as he, wishing to deceive others, planted a bloodworm on the hook, the bites immediately disappeared. When he got rid of annoying observers, he again began to catch burdock moth larvae. That's the whole trick of a fisherman in a quilted jacket.

How To Deal With Mountain Ash Moth
In some years, the caterpillars of this moth affect up to 20 % rowan fruits. And since there were almost no rowan trees last season, the apple orchards suffered. Several small caterpillars settled in the apples at once, and they pierced the entire fruit with their brown passages. Experts note that a drop of gum remains at the point where the caterpillar enters the fetus. On this basis, this pest can be easily distinguished from the moth caterpillar, which clogs the entrance to the app
Bait For Smelt. Charmed Hole
It was the middle of the week when I managed to go fishing. And I went for the smelt. The March sun was tenderly warming, the first puddles appeared on the ice. There were not many fishermen and they scattered across the entire water area of the bay. I also drilled several holes, lowered the gear in them in anticipation of bites. And they followed, however, not very soon, and after I caught two dozen smelts, the biting completely stopped

Enduring Bait - 1
