Several years ago, on my personal plot, I began to "test" more and more interesting medicinal crops - ginkgo biloba, acanthopanax, eleutherococcus, Manchurian aralia, mordovnik ball-headed, fragrant rue, field barnacle, as well as fruit and berry novelties: gummy, tayberry, raspberry tree, candy tree, the latest varieties of raspberries, blackberries and frost-resistant grapes.

I have been collecting all the plants for several years all over Russia, in different regions and nurseries. Much had to be simply thrown away, since quite often he received useless planting material.

Over the years, I have managed to collect a unique collection of flowering ornamental shrubs. For example, it contains a lily of the valley, raspberry-tree, tamarix, evergreen magonia, terry deytion, Billard's spirea, weigela, forsythia, clematis, hazelnuts, etc.

Medicinal properties of Tibetan lofant

But most of all I would like to tell you about the Tibetan lofant. This unique plant never ceases to delight me. There are several places on our planet with excellent energy, such as the Great Canyon in North America or Tibet, which holds many secrets. Tibetan monks have been renowned for their healing arts for thousands of years. Many of their drugs are based on the Tibetan lofant - the most valuable biostimulator of health.

According to biochemical studies, it is a powerful immunostimulant. Unlike ginseng, its effect on the body is milder and more prolonged, that is, its medicinal properties increase gradually and last for a long time.

Its most important advantage is that it, acting directly on the immune system, makes our secretory organs work more actively, and, therefore, strengthens the internal defenses.

Lofant preparations help to increase immunity, restore strength after nervous disorders, strokes and hypertensive crises, with inflammatory processes in the gastrointestinal tract, liver and urinary tract diseases, in the treatment of acute respiratory infections, bronchitis, pneumonia and bronchial asthma. A bed (mattress and cushion-roll) made of lofant grass mixed with other herbs and straw, covered with a coarse linen sheet, relieves a person forever from headaches, insomnia, weather dependence, fungi and many other problems.

Gel made from lofant leaves well heals skin diseases caused by fungi, and fine powder from inflorescences - wet eczema. An alcoholic infusion of fresh flower stalks is used internally and externally for paralysis, paresis, tremors of the limbs, for cardiovascular diseases, as well as for the regulation of metabolism as a general strengthening and anti-aging agent. In small doses, lofant stimulates the activity of the immune system, thereby enhancing the effect of the plants that make up the medicinal collection.

An aqueous infusion of fresh peduncles, leaves and stems of a lofant brewed in a thermos (1 teaspoon for 1 glass of boiling water), together with other medicinal plants, raises vitality. Cosmetic preparations made from lofant strengthen hair roots, smooth wrinkles and keep skin youthful. Lofant leaves are used for inhalation, medicinal baths for the elderly, women and children.

Eating young lofant leaves increases potency in men and effectively promotes the treatment of prostatitis. Everyone can easily test the healing powers of a lofant for themselves: it is enough to sit by a garden bed for 20-30 minutes - and all fatigue disappears, a surge of fresh strength appears. All this happens thanks to volatile essential oils that tone and stimulate our immune system.

Growing a lofant

Tibetan lofant is a perennial plant. In the first year of cultivation, it is possible to cut off medicinal raw materials only once. I do this in the fall at a height of 12-15 cm from the ground. It even tolerates severe Siberian winters well.

But you can cover the area with a lofant with straw or foliage. The next year, in early spring, he actively starts to grow, and the first procurement of medicinal raw materials is possible in July. It is cut at a height of 35 cm. After that, stepchildren grow from the axils of the remaining leaves. We do the autumn cut of medicinal raw materials at a height of 10-15 cm. Then we dry it in the usual way.

Lofant propagates by seeds, dividing the bush, cuttings, layering, and everyone can successfully grow it in their own garden. The most reliable way is to grow seedlings from seeds.

Lofant seeds are slightly larger than a poppy seed. I sow them in early spring, in March - April, in boxes to a depth of no more than 0.5 cm in well-disinfected soil. I make a groove 2-3 mm deep, sow the seeds, then carefully water the soil from a small watering can. The water, absorbing into the ground, draws in the seeds along with it. Sprinkle the top with earth with a layer of 2-3 mm.

× Notice board Sale of kittens Sale of puppies Sale of horses I pre-soak the seeds for up to 30 minutes in a cloth in a weak solution of potassium permanganate, dry them and then store them on the upper shelf in the refrigerator for 24 hours. After sowing, I close the boxes with foil until shoots appear, which appear on the 5-6th day. I water it moderately with water between the seeding lines, adding a drop of boric acid to it, since the seedlings are very weak and are strongly affected by the black leg. When 4-5 leaves appear, dive seedlings also into the disinfected soil; this happens about 25-30 days after sowing the seeds.

After establishing stable warm weather, I plant the plants in open ground, usually at the end of May, a week before the tomatoes are planted. I place the seedlings in rows every 20-25 cm (between rows 60-70 cm) to a depth of 5-8 cm. I water it until it fully survives.

Lofant care consists in weeding, loosening row spacings and hilling. The soil should be loose and well fertilized. Lofant blooms in the second half of July, and flowering continues until the end of September or until the first frost. At the end of flowering, I cut off ripe ears of plants and thresh the seeds, and then harvest medicinal raw materials.

Here are some recipes using Tibetan lofant
