The size of the attic living area directly depends on the slope of the roof. Calculations show that with the width of the first floor 400 cm, the height of the attic walls 120 cm and the slope of the rafters 53? the maximum width of the room will be no more than 280 cm (see diagram), and in the middle of the room, a full-length person can stand on an area 120 cm wide.

In my garden house, I inscribed an attic under a gable roof with a slope broken in the middle (see photo and Fig. 1). With a living area of the first floor of 25 m2, the area of such an attic was 16.92 m2, and there were also two storage rooms in the side pockets under the slopes of 3.8 m2 each, as well as a room above the veranda - 15.1 m2. The attic frame (see Fig. 1) is formed by: rigid triangles (right and left), made up of the crossbar pos. 1, racks, wall frame pos. 2 and rafter legs pos. 3 embedded in the crossbar and rack. Such a design, made up of pos. 1, 2, 3 in the longitudinal direction, located after 150 cm. On the top in the rack pos. 2 in the longitudinal direction, the run of pos. 6 with a cranial bar pos. 7 (see node 1). Rack pos. 2 with a step of 150 cm and run pos. 6 form the frame of the attic wall.

In the spacer between the posts pos. 2 in the run pos. 6, the floor beams pos. 4 attic with a step of 75 cm. The left and right rafter legs of pos. 5. In the ridge, they are joined to the joint on the pads (nail connection).

In the manufacture of the enclosing structures of the attic - floors - mineral wool was used as a heater; for vapor barrier - glassine; for lining the ceiling - wood-insulating board; for the walls - insulating fiberboard was used as a heater, for vapor barrier - glassine, for sheathing - gypsum board. In terms of thermal engineering parameters, these structures are designed for the winter outdoor temperature of the coldest day for St. Petersburg -29 ° C. A ladder of the correct leg is provided for climbing to the attic. Its description can be found in the magazine and on the website.
