The Exhibition Center of the North-West of the Russian Federation and the exhibition company "NevaEXPO" held from 1 to 6 April 2005 the exhibition-fair "Buttercups-Flowers" / "Spring-Summer-2005". It presented a fairly wide range of goods for gardeners and gardeners - from planting and seed material to clothing for sports and recreation.

Along with trade, at the exhibition-fair there was an exchange of experience, information about everything new that has appeared recently in the agricultural sector. So, on the first day, V. V. Farber, head of the Hardwick seed-breeding company, known to St. Petersburg gardeners for its popular high-yielding varieties of cucumbers, tomatoes, parsley and other vegetables. The specialists of this company regularly delight gardeners with their new products.

A large assortment of vegetable seeds was presented to the visitors of the exhibition by the All-Russian Research Institute of Plant Industry named after N. I. Vavilov. At present, this institute is considered the only gene bank in Russia that contains (in a living state) 320 thousand samples of cultivated plant species. It is known that on the basis of this bank, 50% of agricultural crop varieties approved for use in the Russian Federation have been created.

The gladioli presented at the exhibition by the entrepreneurs Shabalins from the city of Tosno constituted only a part of their collection, which includes more than 400 varieties, both widely popular in the North-West and new ones. A number of companies offered collections of bulbous perennials, seeds of flowers and vegetables, fertilizers and products of biological farming.

Blooming uzambar violets of a wide variety of colors and shapes of flowers and leaves, which were exhibited by the collector-entrepreneur Pasedko from the city of Kirovsk, aroused a constant keen interest in amateur flower growers. His collection includes over 300 varieties of violets of domestic and foreign selection.

The methodological center was constantly working at the exhibition. His consultants: Candidates of Agricultural Sciences V. V. Perezhogina, V. V. Farber, Candidate of Biological Sciences A. M. Lazarev and experimental gardeners L. N. Klimtseva, S. M. Korolkova, florist O. N. Shabalina, specialist on landscape design, I. V. Pavlov, citrus grower and gardener I. A. Timofeev gave advice and recommendations on the cultivation of cultivated plants and their protection from pests and diseases.

Every day they spoke to visitors at the "Hour of the Specialist", talking about the features of various technologies for growing crops. In the second half of each day of the exhibition, Russian song and dance ensembles and bards performed.

The next agrarian exhibition of the company "NevaEXPO" - "Autumn Garden" / "Fashionista-Autumn" is scheduled for September 12-18. It will also be held at the exhibition center on Victory Square, 2.
