One of the most valuable ingredients of sea buckthorn fruit is its oil - a good food product and a wonderful remedy. It is used in the treatment of radiation lesions of the skin, burns, frostbite, ulcers, bedsores, eczema, long-term non-healing wounds, gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer, tonsillitis, etc. You can also get it at home.
Method 1
Fully ripe fruits are washed, crushed, squeezed out using a juicer or press. The oil that has emerged during the settling of the juice is collected in a separate vessel. The remaining juice is pasteurized and used as a drink. The cake is washed with water to free it from organic acids that reduce the stability of the oil during storage, dried in a dark place at a temperature not exceeding 60 degrees, after which it is crushed (you can use a meat grinder) and, placing in an enamel bowl, pour any vegetable oil heated to temperature 60 degrees, stir thoroughly with a wooden spoon and leave to infuse, stirring from time to time.
After 1-2 days, the emerged oil is poured into another container with a new portion of dry cake, insisted. This operation is repeated 2-3 times. It helps to increase the concentration of biologically active substances in the oil.
To the fraction of the oil obtained during infusion, add the oil that has emerged when the juice settles, filter it through 2-3 layers of gauze, place it in a dry dark bottle, seal it tightly and store it in the refrigerator.
Method 2
A vessel with sea buckthorn cake and vegetable oil is placed in a large-diameter pot with hot water (70-75 degrees) and kept for 2 hours, stirring often, then proceed as described above.
Method 3
Frozen fruits and vegetable oil (1 kg each) are placed in an enamel pan and, closing it with a lid, placed in a water bath (in a larger vessel with boiling water), kept for 30 minutes. After that, the mass is filtered, the oil is poured into a dry bottle, and the pomace is again poured with a fresh portion of the oil and placed in a water bath. A similar operation is repeated once more, thus extracting one portion of the cake with three portions of vegetable oil.
