How to maintain health with plants and silicon

In folk medicine, silicon has been used for the treatment of diseases from time immemorial long before its discovery, and there is a lot of evidence of this. Professor of the Omsk Agricultural Academy P. L. Dravert in 1922 in the journal "Siberian Nature" published a work entitled: "On lithophogy" (literally - stone science).

He described the facts of the use of special yellow clay by the inhabitants of Guinea, and reddish volcanic tuff by the inhabitants of the Antilles. Residents of the Angara region use local clays to treat gastrointestinal diseases. In the vicinity of Okhotsk, the Tunguses eat a land called "earthy sour cream", breeding it with reindeer milk. The use of clays for food is found in Iran, the island of Java, India, Bolivia, Germany and the Scandinavian Peninsula. Dravert emphasized in this work that the use of clays in food is associated with the treatment of anemia and beriberi disease. In the Arab East and Russia, white clay has long been used as a means of treating anemic children and frail old people, for treating diseases of the skin, lungs and stomach. P. L. Dravert draws the attention of readers, that such a widespread use of clays for food for medicinal purposes is not accidental, for elements such as Mg, Al, Ca, Fe, Si, which form the bulk of the clay, account for 43.25% by weight of the entire earth's crust, while our ordinary food is barely 1.5% by weight of the earth's crust.

The use of silicon in scientific medicine began with Paracelsus. He used it for kidney stones and bladder stones, for urinary retention and certain nervous diseases. The drug Silicea (SiO 2) in homeopathy was introduced by Hahnemann in the treatment of chronic suppuration, wound healing. The use of silicon as a homeopathic remedy gave positive results in the treatment of more than 50 (!) Diseases: atherosclerosis, skin diseases, fever, as well as furunculosis, headaches, especially from overwork, migraine, epilepsy, insomnia, cataracts, otitis media, pharyngitis, chronic bronchitis, rickets, acne, ulcerative stomatitis, stomach ulcers, inflammation of the uterine appendages, fibroids, mastitis, endometriosis.

With a lack of silica, rapid physical and mental fatigue, general weakness appear, thermoregulation is impaired, skin ulcers and cracks form. Academician V. I. Vernadsky drew particular attention to the fact that, after oxygen, silicon is the most abundant element on earth. He called it an element of life and noted: "No organism can exist without silicon."

Little silicon, many diseases

A low content of silicon in the human body (in particular, in hair) indicates weakness of connective tissues, an increased tendency to diseases of hair, nails (loss, fragility, foliation, poor growth), skin (inflammation, irritation), bronchi and lungs (inflammation), blood vessels (atherosclerosis, varicose veins, etc.), joints (arthropathy, dislocation), poor wound healing, fractures. In addition, with a deficiency of silicon, the body's nonspecific resistance to diseases, in particular, cancer, decreases. One of the simplest diagnostic signs of a lack of silicon is, apparently, increased nail fragility. However, they lose their normal fluorescence in ultraviolet light.

In most cases, the symptoms of silicon deficiency are treated by plant supplements containing silicon. It has been shown that these supplements have a positive effect on many diseases: depression, increased nervousness, heart disease, insomnia, schizophrenia, tuberculosis, various infections, inflammatory processes, gum disease, laryngitis, cavities, breast tumors.

Silicon promotes the formation of white blood cells, helps to eliminate kidney stones and bladder diseases. It also helps with dyspepsia, colitis, diarrhea, hemorrhoids, ulcers, hepatitis, circulatory disorders; improves overall tone. Silicon can be beneficial for pregnancy and lactation problems. Moreover, there is reason to believe that aging itself is largely due to a decrease in the silicon content in the body (it turns out, it’s not for nothing that they say: “he is so old that sand falls out of him” …). And this is especially pronounced, alas, with the withering of female beauty with age.

In the colloidal state, silicon cleanses the body, in the blood and intestines it attracts influenza and hepatitis viruses. If there is enough silicon in the body, then pathogens cannot manifest in the human body. The risk of rheumatism, polyarthritis, and dysbiosis is reduced. The daily human need for silicon has not been clearly established. According to some estimates, it should be 20-30 mg per day.

Take care of your silicon for heart health and longevity

In 1912, the German physician Kühn found that silicon compounds can inhibit the development of atherosclerosis. And the French scientists M. Lenger and J. Leprose showed that in atherosclerosis patients have a low silicon content in comparison with healthy ones. As you know, in such patients, arteries of large and medium diameter are affected primarily. This disease occurs due to narrowing of the lumen of blood vessels, because atherosclerotic (or fatty) plaques are deposited on their walls, which impairs the blood supply to organs, disrupts the walls of blood vessels from the inside and reduces their elasticity. And then the person suffers from angina pectoris, arrhythmias, and a number of mental disorders. Even myocardial infarction or stroke is possible.

With a deficiency of silicon in the blood, its content decreases in the walls of blood vessels and the calcium content increases. Replacing silicon with calcium in the tissues of the vessels makes them rigid and fragile because cholesterol begins to settle on the hard spikes of the calcium atom in the walls of the vessels. If silicon is taken after the penetration of cholesterol into the walls of blood vessels has begun, then the amount of fatty acids in the blood decreases sharply and the development of atherosclerosis stops. It turned out that this helps to restore the purity and function of the vessel walls.

Thus, the reduced silicon content in the walls of blood vessels with age leads to their fragility and causes atherosclerosis. Diseases such as angina pectoris, heart attack, cardiosclerosis, cardiac arrhythmia, mental disorders manifest themselves. Silicon contained in vascular tissues prevents the penetration of cholesterol into plasma and the deposition of lipids on the walls of blood vessels. With a stroke, heart attack, the silicon content in the body decreases to 1.2% versus 4.7% in the norm (decreases by 4 times), with silicon diabetes - 1.4%, hepatitis is observed at 1.6%, and in cancer - 1.3% silicon.

It has been proven that the aging process is most directly affected by the balance in the body between calcium and silicon, primarily because this decrease in the concentration of silicon in the connective tissue leads to a decrease in their elasticity, an increase in fragility. Silicon is essential for the function of the proteins collagen and elastin, which form the basis of connective tissue. Therefore, collagen is so necessary for the strength of blood vessels, it binds together the enamel on the teeth, bones, and muscle tissue. Elastin provides flexibility, plasticity of the connective tissue. With age, the amount of collagen decreases and, according to some scientists, this provokes aging. Silicon is essential for the additional synthesis of collagen and elastin. Interestingly, the silicon content in an atherosclerotic artery can be 14 times lower than in a healthy one.

Silicon supplementation in the diet clears the aorta of sclerotic plaques and significantly reduces sclerosis. Small vessels (capillaries) also suffer from a lack of silicon: bruises suddenly appear on your body, which means that there is little silicon in the body, elastin content has decreased or even disappeared, and the walls of the vessels have become thin and unprotected. No wonder they say that a person's age corresponds to the state of his blood vessels. Their condition worsens with old age, when the silicon content in the walls of blood vessels decreases significantly.

A lot of silicon is found in connective tissue, lungs, glands (adrenal glands, thyroid and pancreas, thymus, lymph nodes), in some tissues of the eye (iris and cornea), in the aorta, trachea, cartilage, bones, tendons, tooth enamel … Among the internal organs, the leaders in the content of this element are the lymph nodes (0.6 g per 1 kg), where silicon can be present in the form of separate grains of quartz, and the thyroid gland (about 0.03%), then the adrenal glands are decreasing (0.025%), pituitary gland (0.008%), lungs (0.004-0.008%), muscles (0.0002-0.0008%), blood (0.0002-0.0003%).

How silicon strengthens and repairs bones and joints

Silicon is involved in the metabolism of Ca, Cl, Fe, N, S, Zn, Mo, Mn, Co. Lack of it leads to anemia, hair loss, softening, brittle bones, tuberculosis, erysipelas of the skin, kidney and liver stones. It determines the flexibility of the periosteum, tendons, cartilage, blood vessels.

After a fracture of the bones of an arm or leg in the process of their fusion, our body increases the silicon content in the bones by 50 times compared with the usual state. Once the bones are healed, the silicon level returns to normal. Silicon helps to "build" bones, is responsible for their strength, initiates the processes of mineralization, for which calcium is responsible, and even at a low calcium content, silicon accelerates these processes. Calcium, like many other elements, no matter how much you introduce them, will not be absorbed if the body lacks silicon. Therefore, in case of joint diseases, bone fractures, it is important to take care not so much about providing the body with calcium, but about a sufficient amount of silicon in food.

Pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers and babies especially need products containing silicon. This is why silicon is so important for lactation problems. Violation of silicon metabolism in children leads to anemia, osteomalacia, hair loss, joint diseases, tuberculosis, diabetes, erysipelas of the skin, stones in the liver and kidneys.

Silicon - for healthy lungs, smart head and strong nerves

The role of silicon in the treatment of pulmonary diseases is striking. Over the past 10 years, foci of seemingly long forgotten tuberculosis have begun to appear more and more often. According to the WHO, every 4 seconds one inhabitant of the globe becomes infected with tuberculosis, and every 10 seconds one person dies from it. Immunity to tuberculosis is closely related to the content of silicon in the lungs, where it is localized mainly in the lower right lobe - this is the most protected site. The lesions occur in those areas of the lungs that contain the least amount of silicon (this is usually the upper right lobe). Interestingly, there is an almost 50% decrease in the content of silicon in the lungs with the development of tuberculosis and a significant decrease in it in the bones.

In severe forms of tuberculosis, the silicon content in bone tissue can decrease by more than 45 percent. Therefore, the treatment of tuberculosis must begin with proper nutrition, which should be dominated by foods rich in fiber. A lot of silicon is contained in the husk of grain, especially rice. Oats, beets, barley, soybeans, unpolished rice, whole wheat, turnips, raisins, green beans - these are the foods that must be present in the diet of patients (and not only tuberculosis, but also arthritis, atherosclerosis, diabetes, hypertension, stomach ulcers) … In general, the lack of many mineral elements is typical for patients with tuberculosis.

Silicon can help normalize mineral balance and improve the health of the immune system.

Lack of silicon in the body increases the risk of upper respiratory catarrh. The nasal passages become inflamed, clogged with mucus, and become a severe irritant in your body. The patient produces a lot of catarrhal mucus, which clogs the passages through which air enters the brain. And this will certainly affect your thinking, memory, ability to concentrate. The normal work of the brain is disrupted, you suffer from headaches, you get tired faster. Change the silicon balance, bring it back to normal, and you will feel that life is beautiful and amazing.

One of the most important functions of silicon is to energize the cerebellum, which controls our movements. Any shift in silicon balance is reflected primarily in the coordination of your movements. Moreover, a person with a silicon deficiency in the body always staggers to the right and never to the left. The silicon content in the brain tissues is 0.001-0.01%. The richest in silicon are the dura mater, cerebral cortex and cerebellum. Its concentration in the brain depends on the state of the central nervous system. So, when the central nervous system is excited, the amount of silicon in the brain tissues decreases, and when inhibited, it increases. The opposite phenomenon is observed in the blood and cerebrospinal fluid flowing out of the brain: when the central nervous system is excited, the amount of silicon in them increases, and when it is suppressed, it decreases.

If you suddenly have a feeling of hopelessness that you are about to die, the noise (and even the slightest rustle) begins to annoy you, you feel confused, you cannot concentrate, then your body lacks silicon. But one thing to keep in mind is that silicon is better absorbed when you are active. If you turn into an "object" and allow yourself to be "transported", then the silicon in your body is hardly absorbed, and you become even more weak. Make your body work, and you will see how quickly things get better for you. Silicon requires movement - remember this.

Silicon protects against hormonal imbalances and constipation

During excitation of the central nervous system, the silicon content in the blood, cerebrospinal fluid, adrenal glands and spleen increases, and when inhibited, it decreases. The nature of the hormonal regulation of silicon metabolism is determined by both sex and age. Steroid hormones are involved in the regulation of silicon metabolism by the endocrine system. The latter are formed from cholesterol; these include sex hormones, adrenal cortex hormones, etc. They control the absorption of this element in the intestines. Therefore, in case of violation of the hormonal status (sterilization of animals), the concentration of silicon in the blood and its assimilation in the intestinal tract may decrease.

On the other hand, scientists have discovered a hormone-like effect of some silicon drugs derived from tetrasiloxane. In this regard, in case of violation of the hormonal status, in particular, in diseases of the thyroid gland, attention should be paid not to the introduction of hormonal preparations into the body, but to the restoration of the content and metabolism of silicon. After all, it is the thyroid gland that has a high content (about 0.03%) of silicon.

It has been noticed that the development of a tumor is usually accompanied by a deficiency of a number of mineral elements. However, when the correct balance of elements is restored, the tumor can dissolve. Initially, the body concentrates elements such as Ca, Mg and Si. At the same time, silicon is one of the main concentrated elements, it is spent quite quickly and its reserves must be restored.

What is silicon useful for?

  1. It is a good adsorbent and binds the decay products of tumor tissue.
  2. The connective tissue is maintained in good condition by silicon, and the tumor is localized.
  3. Silicon is very important for hormone replacement therapy.

The increased activity of the sex glands during hormone therapy reduces the concentration of silicon in the connective tissues, and the tumor spreads easily. Therefore, the silicon deficiency must be compensated for. This is why plants containing silicon can have beneficial effects when used against cancer.

The situation with the deficiency of silicon and magnesium and the consequences of this deficiency for the appearance of such pathology as constipation was revealed by studies at the State Medical University (Irkutsk). According to the General Statistical European Center, 10-25% of the population suffers from constipation, of which 3% are children. The results of the study showed reduced concentrations of magnesium and silicon in patients with functional constipation compared to the control group.
