What is cellular polycarbonate and what are its properties

Cellular polycarbonate is a polymer sheet made in such a way that its structure is a combination of stiffeners and voids. It is thanks to these voids that polycarbonate received the name honeycomb or cellular.

Stiffeners in the structure of the sheet can have different shapes depending on the required strength, light transmission and other characteristics of polycarbonate plastic: on the sheet cut, they form rectangles, triangles, rhombuses and other shapes. Moreover, the number of polymer layers in different types of polycarbonate cellular plastic can range from two to eight.

Cellular polycarbonate has the following properties:

- shock-resistant,

- fire-resistant,
