Annual plants of different shapes, colors, sizes will help you to choose the right color scale according to your taste and mood. Their preference over perennials is abundant, prolonged flowering with clean, bright, juicy colors until autumn. Perennials bloom once or twice a season, although they have their own important advantages.

Any serious projects start on paper. I miss the first important step for novice gardeners - the planning of the entire garden plot with the definition of its main parts and elements - a recreation area, a vegetable garden, an economic zone, a playground, fruit trees, ornamental plants.

Then there are problems with the planting material. Here it is better to focus on the range of local nurseries and on zoned plants that can be purchased from experienced gardeners. Particular attention should be paid to the root system, its condition. Conifers should not be purchased with an open root system, as short-term drying of the roots can lead to their death.

An important point in the creation of any flower garden is the preparation of the seat. It will be rational to carry out work in advance to remove perennial weeds. They are performed in two stages. First, you need to shovel the sod from the selected site. After four to five months, young weeds will grow from the remaining pieces of roots and seeds in this place. The second stage of cleaning the area is the removal of new weeds.

After the second cleaning of the planting area, proceed to create the necessary fertile soil, taking into account the needs of the selected plants. Improve clay soil with sand and organic materials.

Add clay soil and organic matter to light sandy soils. Enrich the soil with compost that improves fertility, retains water, improves air exchange and soil structure. Apply a compound fertilizer that will provide nutrition to the plants for the entire season. Before sowing seeds or planting seedlings, thoroughly loosen the soil with a garden pitchfork to a depth of at least 35 cm, mixing all its components.

For the correct selection of plants, it is necessary to know their biological characteristics and agricultural techniques. Make a flower arrangement and planting plan. At the same time, take into account their size, flowering time, color of flowers and leaves, the shape and structure of plants, their growth rate and the need for light. The continuity of flowering of different plants is one of the main conditions for the construction of a good flower garden.

Ornamental plants have a variety of colors not only of flowers, but also of leaves. Therefore, when creating flower beds, take into account the combination of all colors and textures. The selection of plant colors should be done according to the principle of color contrast or the law of color harmony, that is, a gradual increase or decrease in the color intensity of a certain color scheme.

The front garden is perhaps the most ancient type of ceremonial landscaping of the estate in Russia. Russian traditions in the garden have always combined benefits and beauty.

In the gardens, the space directly in front of the residential building has always been distinguished by deliberate splendor. Lawns, flower beds of various shapes, clipped hedges were placed here. The hedges of climbing plants and clipped conifers are a tradition that continues in modern gardens.

The front part of the site can be given a regular pattern. Nowadays, gardeners are armed with all the wealth of traditions. Domestic varieties of peonies, phloxes, lilies, irises, dahlias, asters, lilacs and many other plants are not inferior in quality and originality, and sometimes even surpass foreign ones. When composing your compositions, take into account the space, the degree of shade, the type of soil, the possibility of leaving, and most importantly, the decorative effect. In our northern conditions, flower arrangements are formed with the use of ornamental perennial grasses, ferns, host and conifers, with a view to the decorative effect in winter. The dominants are arranged in a mosaic pattern against a background of grasses. Between the individual groups, the free space is decorated with ground cover plants.

In addition to perennials, you can use a wide range of annual and biennial crops (chamomile, cornflowers, forget-me-nots, toadflax, poppy, wormwood, sage, escholzia, cloves and many other plants). Many of them are capable of self-seeding. Since the plants are selected with successive flowering, the color of the flower garden changes periodically. In the front garden, it will be appropriate to plant several ornamental trees, shrubs and double flowers. Weed growth will be inhibited by ground cover crops.

Under the windows, you can plant a weeping mountain ash that will not block the view from the windows. A tier below, under the mountain ash, you can create a small coniferous garden of spherical thuja and gray-green and yellow junipers of different shapes and colors. Herbaceous plants can also be added to them. Evergreen needles will ennoble the garden in early spring and winter days, and in summer it will create a wonderful background for the colors of flower beds.

They complement each other and contrast in the shape and color of the leaves. Here you can place forsythia, blooming in early spring, weigela, replacing it with its flowering, silvery oak, the foliage of which is decorative against the background of the lawn throughout the season, as well as purple barberry. This group decorates the front garden and hides it from prying eyes from the side of the roadway.

The solutions here can be very diverse. For example, plant 2-3 rows of annual or perennial flowers on a narrow strip between the house and the roadway, picking up plants so that there are tall plants near the wall of the house, and lower crops, for example, fragrant tobacco, annual asters, and closer to the road. perennial, alissum or phlox paniculate and subulate, arabis, alpine, irises.

If there is a slope in front of the house, then it is appropriate to arrange a rockery or retaining wall in front of it, decorating them with stones and plants. If the surface in front of the house is flat or horizontal, then in this case it is possible to create portable gardens of flower vases, in which you can plant annuals (tuberous begonia, salvia, small-flowered dahlia, pelargonium, lobelia). Perennials can be planted in large vases - hostu, gelenium, phlox and other plants.

Vases can be of the same size or different, but they must be made of the same material, for example, old tires, rings of any material, so that there is no variegation. With the correct selection of plants, systematic care for them, the decorativeness of the front garden is preserved throughout the entire vegetative period.
