Dr. Ilizarov's effect - stress accelerates plant development

As you know, Dr. Ilizarov cracked bones to induce the effect of intensive bone growth. A similar effect is observed in plants, and I am sure this should be used.

When grafting fruit crops, they take and cut off a peephole (kidney) from a carefree growing garden tree and transfer it to another tree, injuring it at the same time, causing stress. And then an amazing thing happens: next summer the peephole gives an increase in height of 0.8-1.3 meters. Where did he get the power? Well, you think next summer this plant is a stress-relieved plant, revitalized. Will give even more gain. Alas, the growth is only 15-40 cm.

After the spring sales, some of the plants remain in our nursery in containers. In order not to torment them all summer, we plant them, freeing them from the pots, in fertile soil and water them with water. We were very surprised when, digging up raspberries, currants and gooseberries and other plants for the autumn sale, we found that their root system did not give an increase in even a millimeter! The roots were afraid to go out of the container substrate into an unknown, albeit good, soil. By the way, for all types of plants, we make the following soil composition: 1 part of very fertile land + 1 part of peat (store land), we exclude sand.

For five years we suffered from the garden blueberries bought in containers. Planted, transplanted to different parts of the garden (shade, partial shade, sun). On different ground - it's useless. The roots did not come from the substrate purchased with the plant, and it slowly died, having exhausted its supply of nutrients. In recent years, buying new plants in containers (shrubs, rhododendrons, conifers), we, contrary to the recommendations of Dr. DG Hession “to plant container plants without disturbing the root system”, free the roots from soil by soaking in water for one day and then washing. If the roots have grown strongly, intertwined, and the soil is difficult to access, we cut the root system into 3-4 parts from top to bottom, then we wash the soil clean (often highly chemicalized). After necessarily we make a light pruning of the end of the roots with a pruner so that fresh cuts of wood are visible - this will be the strongest signal for the accelerated growth of the root system, getting used to the ground. As practice has shown, all the plants completely took root, got used to the ground and by autumn they gave growth (thuja, larch), although sometimes we transplanted them in hot weather (in June-July).

Try it, you will succeed. Just remember: conifers should not be watered strongly and often - the roots can rot and the plant will die.

In the old days, nails were driven into the trunk of an apple tree so that it began to bear fruit faster. There is a method of cutting the bark of fruit crops - all these are links in the same chain - to create stress and push the plant to a faster development. I believe that this effect can be attributed to the cuttings of plants - without leaves, without roots, cuttings begin to grow. It's just some kind of miracle. But I ask readers-gardeners not to hammer nails into apple trees - modern varieties are already quickly beginning to bear fruit.

When transplanting flowers into flower beds, beds, alleys, keep them for three days in a dark, cool basement. The implantation effect will be amazing.
