Primula is a wonderful representative of the primrose family
Spring in Italy comes instantly: exhausting winter rains stop, and, as if by magic, everything blooms around!
The day before, the eye stumbled upon gray-green wet palms, which dropped their "fans" almost to the ground, and today, as soon as the sun peeped out, primrose bloomed!
At the word primrose, my soul feels very good, I immediately recall my childhood, when I feasted on the slightly sweet stems of "lamb", as it is sometimes called.
Literally in every garden, she scattered multi-colored baskets, delighting with their flowering and cheering up in any weather, even cloudy and rainy.
Amazing, delicate, in general, simple flowers can not leave anyone indifferent, poets sing it, even the great Shakespeare was delighted with primrose, his Ariel in The Tempest sings: wondrous cup, curled up, swing ….

Primrose is one of the first to start a unique celebration of flowering, colors, forms, aromas. Even in all the legends about her, she is everywhere associated with divine or magical keys that open the doors to Spring with their flowering.
This is probably why the primrose genus (Primula) was attributed to the primroses family (Primulaceae), which unites about 20 genera of herbaceous plants. The primrose genus has about 600 species.
The flowers of most of these plants are collected in umbellate or capitate inflorescences, less often in solitary ones. The most famous are Primula vulgaris, Primula obconica, malacoides, japonica, sinensis. The hortensis primrose that we usually buy and do not stop admiring is a hybrid from primrose vulgaris.
Its numerous variants are very decorative, have delicate, velvety, smooth or corrugated petals, painted in all colors of the rainbow. Some have multi-colored centers that look like laughing “eyes”, joyfully greeting their owners.
There are many beliefs associated with primrose. This flower was a symbol of kindness and home comfort. Bringing the red primrose home was a very good sign.
In the language of flowers, primrose means "reckless love", and together with fragrant hyacinths it will be a wonderful gift for a loved one.

Planting ideas
Primrose looks beautiful in monocultural plantings, in the design of borders, in vases, on balconies and terraces. Having visited the Neskuchny Sad store, I saw a slide of blooming primrose that adorned the garden table. The multi-colored slide looked amazingly beautiful. One drawback is that you need to make pots for watering.
Growing requirements
Flowers bought in small cramped pots must be transplanted into wider ceramic vases or directly into the garden.
Primroses love abundant watering, the earthen lump should always be wet, but if, after half an hour, water remains in the pan, it must be removed. Primroses prefer a location so that they are illuminated by the sun in the morning and afternoon.
If primroses grow in the house, it is necessary to avoid direct sunlight on them, and also to isolate them from heat from the central heating batteries. It is better to choose a cooler place for plants, near the window.
Primrose is a perennial plant, and if, with the onset of hot weather, it is transferred to the shade and constantly watered, then next year, with the arrival of the first warm days, they will again delight you with their delicate, bright, multi-colored constellations of flowers.
