Properties of the mountaineer

The plant is simply stuffed with healing substances! They are found in the root, and in the leaves, and in the flowers, and in the seeds. Fatty and essential oils (up to 2%), flavonoids, and sugars are found in seeds. The leaves and flowers contain coumarins, kaempferol, rutin, quercetin, isorhamnetin. But most of all biologically active substances are concentrated in the root - it is not for nothing that the mountaineer is called the royal root! From the roots, scientists have isolated the drugs peucedanin and arangelin.

In scientific medicine, peucedanin is used to treat vitiligo - uneven skin pigmentation and circular baldness, and also as a means of enhancing the effect of the anticancer drug thiophosphamide. Arangelin is used for coronary insufficiency, gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer, for diseases of the gallbladder, as an antispasmodic agent for spastic colitis.

The use of a mountaineer

In folk medicine, Morison's mountaineer is used for epilepsy, cancer, inflammation of the gallbladder, heart disease, colds, headaches, as a diuretic and digestive aid for stomach ulcers and duodenal ulcers, for coughing with a large accumulation of sputum, constipation, scurvy. Husky plants are also used in Tibetan medicine. The herb is used during flowering, as well as the roots.

The roots are harvested in early spring or late autumn. They are cleaned and dried. The roots have a pungent spicy taste and a specific smell. How can you not recall that the scientific name of the genus Peucedanum dates back to Dioscorides and comes from the Greek peukedanon, composed of two words peuke - "spruce" or "bitter, pungent" and danos - "dry", by the pungent, resinous smell and the taste of the plant root. Grass and roots are crushed and dried in attics. Raw materials are stored in paper bags for two years.

Medicines in everyday life - decoction, tincture, ointment. To prepare the broth, take 4 teaspoons of crushed raw materials for 1 cup of boiling water and leave for 15-20 minutes. Use inside 1 tablespoon three times a day. The tincture is made on vodka: 5 teaspoons of raw materials are insisted on 200 g of vodka in a warm place for 10 days; apply orally 25 drops three times a day. Topically applied as a 0.5% ointment in addition to combined treatment for breast cancer.

Cultivation of a mountain garden

It is not difficult to grow a horticultural plant on a personal plot. Seeds sown before winter give friendly shoots in early spring. When sowing in spring, the seeds should be pre-stratified, i.e. soak for 30-40 days in damp sand at a temperature of about 0 ° C (you can in the refrigerator). Sow in early spring in grooves to a depth of 1.5-2 cm in normal garden soil. Seedlings will grow over the summer.

In the fall or early spring of next year, it must be planted in a permanent place. Plants are placed in a lighted place after 30-35 cm. They do not need special care, mountain forests are unpretentious, winter-hardy, drought-resistant. In one place they can grow up to 20 years. The roots can be used from the second year.
