This plant often grows near dwellings, in the garden, loves to settle in the beds, when all the weeds have already been weeded out by hardworking housewives, therefore, it appears as if imperceptibly after rain or watering, and grows quickly. But when you try to pull out this plant, it doesn’t give in, the leaves with the stem break off, but the root remains and the groundwort resumes growth. Its leaves are very similar to the lower leaves of a dandelion.
The aerial part and the rhizome of the rhizome contain biologically active substances, the most important of which are the alkaloids platyphylline, sarracin, senecyphylline. Most of the alkaloids are found in seeds, flowers and roots - up to 3-5%, and in the leaves and stems they are ten times less.
Both herbs and roots are used for treatment. To obtain the infusion, take 1 tsp. dry chopped mass of herbs for 2 cups of boiling water, insist 1 hour and take 1 tbsp. l. 2-3 times a day for hysterical convulsions, anemia, palpitations, inflammation of the bladder, gastrointestinal colic.
All parts of the plant have antihelminthic, sedative, anticonvulsant, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, emollient, accelerating the ripening of abscesses and wound healing effects, have the ability to induce and regulate menstruation.
From the roots, you can prepare a vodka tincture - pour 1/4 cup of the herb to the top with vodka, leave for 14 days and take 30-40 drops 1-3 times a day.
Crushed leaves, pounded with oil, are applied to abscesses, hemorrhoidal cones, hardened mammary glands. Ground grass, ground with butter or sunflower oil, is used for inflammation of the mammary glands, hemorrhoidal cones and abscesses.
Infusion and tincture are used for stomach and duodenal ulcers, kidney and liver diseases, spastic constipation. It has a positive effect on angina attacks and circulatory disorders in the vessels of the brain.
The plant is poisonous and requires caution when ingested. An overdose is felt as dry mouth, heart rate increases. It is contraindicated to take a rosewort for glaucoma and organic diseases of the liver and kidneys.
For diseases of the uterus, as well as for uterine bleeding, use a tincture of the rootwort: 1 tbsp l. chopped herbs are poured into 1/2 cup of 70% alcohol and insisted for a week, take 30-40 drops per half cup of water.
