A difficult season still pleased with the results
Summer is coming to an end. It is a pity that this season the weather did not please us very much. In April it was raining and it was cold, May was marked by frosts, and the summer was not hot at all. But gardeners and summer residents do not have bad weather, they always have a lot of work in the garden.
As usual, in late February and early March, I sowed peppers, tomatoes, petunias and lobelia for seedlings. She developed quite normally. I planted tomatoes and peppers in the greenhouse late - at the end of May, as there was a delay in the construction of a new greenhouse.
And in the old greenhouse we have planted grapes: twelve bushes of different varieties. Four grape bushes have already yielded crops this year, the rest, I hope, will please with the harvest next year or in a year, since they are still very small, they were planted with very crumbs this year.
The first to bloom were the Krasa Severa grapes and by June 14, almost all of them had bloomed. Behind him began flowering varieties Crystal and Korinka Russian. The New Russian variety bloomed later than everyone else. It was very poorly pollinated, many ovaries fell off.
We have only the Krasa Severa variety for the second year, it gave a lot of inflorescences, I removed some of them, some ovaries fell off, but in general this variety developed very well: the clusters were dense and large.
Grape Hybrid 342 wintered well. I was waiting for it to bloom, but when I took off the shelter, I saw a fat, hairy caterpillar that ate all the buds on the shoots. It was very disappointing.
I have planted grapes in the open field, but it is still young and does not bear fruit. These are the varieties Zagadka Sharova, Liepsna, Palanga, Avgustovsky, Zolotoy Potapenko.
This season I planted different varieties of tomatoes, there were many new ones. With the beginning of ripening, I noted for myself the excellent appearance and quality of the fruits of the varieties Mazarin, Princess, Honey Giant, Orange Queen and Orange. Although in general the tomatoes were difficult to develop, they were poorly pollinated, and the bushes had to be sprayed with the Ovyaz preparation.
But even on such a cold and rainy summer, my garden was blooming and fragrant. The terrace was decorated with lobelias and petunias in pots and pots, roses bloomed continuously, and clematis grew huge flowering hats. Clematis of Josephine and Multi Blue varieties were especially beautiful this season. Every year in my garden hosts of different varieties, astilbe, conifers and geychera, are growing, creating some kind of mystery and mystery to my garden. Large-flowered terry daisies and phloxes evoke romantic nostalgia. Roses and clematis make you feel like the queen of your small and cozy garden.
A lot of different flowers, shrubs, fruit trees, berries grow in this garden, so they require attention and care every day. Unfortunately, I do not always have time to feed all the plants, treat them against pests. But I definitely add complex fertilizers in the early spring over the snow, spill it with phytosporin and process it, where necessary, with Bordeaux liquid.
When it gets warmer, I feed the weak plants with a solution of Gummy, add dolomite flour under the clematis, and spill those plants on which wilting of shoots last year with a solution of metronidazole (this is a pharmaceutical preparation Trichopol) - 3 tablets per 1 liter of water. I noticed that after that the disease recedes. The same solution can be poured over lilies and irises against rot.
In the garden you have to tie up the plants very often and a lot. This year I really enjoyed working with the thin spool wire that I bought from the garden center. Tying is very quick and convenient. This is especially good when working with clematis and climbing roses.
I try to plan all work in the garden in advance, little by little, laying it out for every day, since my little children also require my attention and care. Therefore, I learned to do everything quickly and according to plan.
I love flowers everything, but especially clematis, peonies and roses. Favorite clematis are Josephine, Valge Daam (white with huge flowers), Fairy tale (pink with a burgundy stripe), Marmory (corrugated pink), Rouge Cardinal, Nelly Moser and others.
I really like climbing roses, I have eight bushes in my garden. True, caring for them is difficult, especially a shelter for the winter and a garter. They also need good support. But when they begin to bloom, the garden is so beautiful that it just takes your breath away.
At the end of summer, I pour superphosphate, potash fertilizer, and ash under flowers, bushes and other perennials. In August, on roses, I do not cut off all the flowers that have already withered, so as not to stimulate unnecessary shoot growth.
Pleased this season and many plants in the orchard. Raspberries formed large, surprisingly, despite the difficult weather, sweet. The varieties Bryansk Ruby, Gusar, Balsam, Vera were especially good. Red Guard raspberries have appeared in new landings. She also bore a crop.
And the repair strawberries of the Elizabeth II variety allowed children to be treated with large, sweet berries until late autumn.
This season turned out to be such a troublesome and yet productive and rich in flowering of favorite plants.
