The more unusual the plant composition in your garden, the more impressive it makes. What can you say, for example, about the combination of the Gold Ring barberry of the Thunberg variety with red foliage or the yellow-leaved mock-orange with the giant bluehead? Take a chance and you won't regret it!
Eryngium sp. L. Is a hardy perennial herb, native to the humid expanses of South America. The genus includes about 230 species. In addition to capitate inflorescences, consisting of small flowers of all shades of bluish-lilac gamut, erythematosus has very decorative leaves: large, whole or pinnately dissected, most often with a leathery top and a spiny-toothed surface. Quite large leaves of the wrapper are also prickly and tough. However, no thorns stop lovers of these plants.

Several dozen species and varieties of erythematosus are known in culture. In our country, the most popular species are amethyst erythyst and bourge erythematosus, which have leathery, pinnately-divided leaves. Blue and blue flowers are collected in ovoid heads.
The giant erythematosus looks very impressive, the largest of all, as its name implies, it can be up to 2 m tall. Its flowers are whitish, and large capitate inflorescences, up to 7 cm in length, have an obovate shape.
A good look is also a flat erythematosus, the leaves of which have a metallic sheen.
The seaside erythematosus is a bluish-blue perennial with a thick, branched stem. Basal leaves on long petioles have a variety of shapes: round, heart-shaped or kidney-shaped.

Purple erythematosus has petals of the corresponding color, collected in large heads.
Despite the variety of appearance, the care of erythematosus is, in principle, similar. They all love light, sandy soils and require open, sunny areas. In addition to the usual weeding, the soil around the erythematosus must be loosened regularly.
Blueheads usually bloom in July-August, and bear fruit in August or September. Their seeds are sown before winter in open ground. In addition, erythematosus can be propagated by dividing the bush. This is done in May, observing maximum caution in relation to the fragile roots of the erythematosus. Plants are planted at a distance of 30-40 cm. High erythrocytes can be planted in groups or singly on the lawn, and undersized ones will decorate a rabatka or mixborder.
Enegloss is unusually good in winter bouquets.
