Gray dung beetle, completely harmless under normal conditions, causes poisoning in those people who have drunk a fair amount of it before eating it. Poisoning is expressed in severe nausea and even vomiting, painful palpitations, severe redness of the skin. These phenomena soon disappear without a trace.
However, if a drinker tries to get drunk, the poisoning will repeat with the same force. This is explained by the fact that gray dung beetle contains the chemical koprin, dissolving in alcohol, it penetrates into the blood, and then into the liver. Of course, dung beetle is a toxic product, but it does not cause fatal poisoning.

The action of the substances contained in gray dung beetle, based on the oxidation of alcohol in the body, turned out to be so effective that Czechoslovak scientists suggested using this mushroom as a simple, cheap and affordable means of combating alcoholism. Shimmering dung beetle has similar properties.
Before treatment, the mushrooms must be properly dried, and most importantly - on time - to have time to dry. Immediately after harvesting, the mushrooms are cleaned, washed and placed in a large, shallow frying pan, put on low heat and fried, stirring constantly, until the water has completely evaporated. The resulting mass is ground into powder in a coffee grinder.
White dung beetle also has the same property, but it acts much softer, does not cause such a reaction as gray dung beetle, but it performs its main function - to latently develop aversion to alcohol - it performs perfectly. Scientists mycologists of St. Petersburg have developed the drug "Fungo-Shi Koprinus" based on white dung for the treatment of drunkenness.
The main condition: add the powder from two capsules to food in the morning (a drinker will always find a glass of alcohol himself during the day) and do this for at least three months. Already by the end of the second month, alcohol consumption should be halved due to the body's unwillingness to provoke itself.
The drug "Fungo-Shi Koprinus" is absolutely safe, does not cause poisoning and allergic reactions. But the treatment should still be carried out under the supervision of a doctor so that no complications occur.
In addition to good taste and anti-alcohol properties, dung beetle has other advantages. For example, researchers with diabetes have learned from their own experience that eating dung beetle significantly lowers blood sugar.
Another application. Of particular interest are the cellulase enzymes of the coprinus fungi, with the help of which the fungus decomposes and assimilates fiber. The first tests to obtain organic fertilizers from wood waste using dung beetle were carried out in the USSR in 1966. Sawdust compost, obtained with the participation of the fungus and applied to the soil, has tripled the lettuce yield.
