Of course, not as abundantly as it should bloom. Then the leaves began to shrink, and from the dryness of the air, they brown and die off. She refused this type of orchid, as well as oncidium, odontoglossum and pafiopedilum. These tropical plants are too capricious.

Cymbidium (his homeland is southern Africa, South Asia, the Great Sunda Islands) lived with me for four years. I bought this orchid when I saw its huge branch with beautiful flowers in a flower shop. The flowers of this orchid are often sold on the eve of March 8 in boxes. This is a plant with long (about 60 cm) leaves. Up to 30 flowers are formed on each peduncle. But this type of orchid also needs a cold winter to form flower buds. In indoor conditions, for several years the flower has grown a huge green mass of leaves. After cooling down in autumn, the long-awaited arrow with buds appeared on the balcony in December, but on dark winter days it could not bloom. The buds have dried up. And after a spider mite was found on the leaves, I said goodbye to this type of orchid. Cymbidium is a flower for spacious greenhouses with a cool winter climate.
