First of all, it is necessary to choose exactly those plants for which the hot kitchen climate is most suitable or, at least, will not harm, due to the fact that they are quite unpretentious.

For landscaping the room in which the gas stove is located, it is best to choose plants with fast-growing foliage, since the combustion products of gas in the air negatively affect the condition and appearance of the leaves, therefore one of the possible ways out of this situation is regular pruning and removal spoiled greenery.

Another solution is to grow plants in the kitchen with wide glossy leaves that are easy and convenient to wash. As a rule, washing or wiping once a week is sufficient to preserve the decorative effect of such crops. It is also very important to consider the light needs of each plant in order to decide where it is best to place it.

Based on the optimal lighting conditions, all plants are divided into four groups:

1. Light-loving. These include: azalea, aloe, wilted bilbergia, grapefruit, date, fuchsia and others. These plants do well on the sills of the south and east windows.

2. Plants that are better suited for diffused light: begonias, ferns, tradescantia, philodendrons and others. This group includes plants that cannot withstand bright sunlight and can only grow well in diffused light.

3. Shade-tolerant: ferns, dense-flowered and bristle asparagus, variegated scindapsus, zebrin and flumines tradescantia, Benjamin ficus, elastic and arrow-shaped, climbing philodendron, conifers. Plants of this group grow well in the depths of rooms and do not require additional lighting even in winter.

4. Indifferent to the conditions of light conditions: hydrangea, hibiscus, ivy, variegated scindapsus, thuja, elastic ficus, crested chlorophytum, hoya. These plants grow both in illuminated areas and in shade, and therefore are very convenient for decorating living spaces.

I would like to remind once again that all of the above applies only to adult plants, since young rooted shoots and cuttings need a special light regime. In addition, flowers should be positioned so as not to interfere with food preparation and other work. In this regard, by far the most suitable place for setting flower pots is the windowsill.

Large tub crops are unlikely to be suitable for decorating the kitchen, since they will only block the passage. You also need to remember that indoor plants do not tolerate drafts, and even more so, you should not place them in the immediate vicinity of stoves, especially gas ones. After all, only well-groomed, healthy and full of life flowers can truly decorate your home.

One of the reasons for its popularity is that it is able to absorb not only carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide, but also nicotine and especially toxic substances emitted from some furniture: phenol and formaldehyde. The homeland of the scindapsus is the humid tropics. Therefore, it should not be supercooled, the illumination is best for it, good, but without direct sunlight. The plant is hygrophilous, it must be watered abundantly (except in winter, when moderate watering is recommended). All kinds of "water procedures" are very useful for him: spraying, washing the leaves with cool water. But it must be remembered that you can water the scindapsus only when the top layer of soil in the pot has time to dry out a little. The next plant - the orderly - is, of course, the Kalanchoe. It can significantly reduce the number of harmful microbes in the air and has antiviral activity. This is a light-loving plant. Viviparous varieties reproduce by forming "babies" along the edge of the leaf. One of the necessary measures for caring for him is to shorten the stem as it grows and stretches.

Asparagus is a graceful plant in the lily family. In it, first of all, its high decorativeness is appreciated; twigs of some species are traditionally added to bouquets. Sprenger's asparagus is usually cultivated indoors. In general, there are a huge number of asparagus varieties, and not all of them are suitable for home growing. This plant will look especially beautiful in a wicker hanging basket. Moderate watering is recommended, care consists in regular feeding and pruning of yellowed branches.
