How to make it easier for a florist to care for indoor plants

Any enthusiastic florist sooner or later comes to such a moment when the space of the apartment begins to be sorely lacking for further expansion of the existing collection. As the saying goes, appetite comes with eating. So it is with flowers: if you are already carried away, they have taken possession of your heart, then this is serious and for a long time. And more often than not, forever.

Now every new purchase turns into a puzzle: where should I put it? Solid collections reach such sizes that without a catalog one can get lost in the names. And the irrigation operation turns into a real trip through the home jungle. In such circumstances, it is possible to miss someone and leave without watering and proper care, which will lead to undesirable consequences.

To avoid such unnecessary problems, you should soberly assess the capacity of the apartment and your own physical capabilities from the very beginning. After all, there is nothing worse than unkempt flowers, dragging out a miserable existence and causing negative emotions in others. First of all, you need to remember: it is impossible to grasp the immensity! There are tens of thousands of magnificent, dazzlingly beautiful plants in the world, but it is simply unrealistic to collect them on your windowsill. Most flower growers do not have the opportunity to have a spacious greenhouse specially designated for this purpose.

Therefore, you need to think very carefully before purchasing a new plant: is there a place for it; can you provide him with the necessary microclimate and care regimen. After all, plants should bring us only positive emotions from the contemplation of their beauty, and not cause irritation, which will inevitably arise when there is a desperate lack of time and opportunities for full care. In this case, it is better to immediately abandon the purchase and courageously walk past a flower shop that beckons with exotic gifts.

So how do you plan your plant care operations so that they don't become a burden, but only bring pleasure?

The main rule of a florist is daily examination of your pets. For someone who truly loves them, this is only a joy, and he does such an operation even more than once a day. With such an examination, it would be good to have a watering can with you in order to water those plants that need it at the same time. Then you don't have to set aside additional time for watering. By the way, it is recommended to water the plants in the winter in the morning, and in the summer in the evening. If a wilted or dried leaf is found, it must be removed immediately, not put off for later. Somewhere you need to loosen the soil, somewhere to wipe up spilled water. All this must be done immediately upon detection, during the inspection. Such mini-cleaning does not require much effort and allows you to preserve the beauty of plants, cleanliness in the place where they are kept and save your own time.

But what about top dressing, because all plants are different, and their fertilization regime does not coincide? To do this, you need to create a feeding calendar for yourself, where you can mark the dates. Moreover, if there are a lot of plants, it is better not to feed everything in one day. For example, today we plant fertilizer for flowering and feed them, marking them on the calendar. Tomorrow we will take time for feeding decorative deciduous. Thus, no one will be deprived, everyone is fed in accordance with the requirements of care, and the likelihood of forgetting about feeding is reduced to zero.

Transplanting into fresh soil in spring can also be simplified. To do this, you need to conditionally divide the plants into groups that need the same soil mixture. And then we do the following. In one day, we harvest one soil mixture and transplant the corresponding plants. The next day, we prepare the second recipe for the soil mixture and transplant the next group, etc. Thus, the hard work of transplanting turns into a quick and uncomplicated event.

And one more piece of advice from experienced florists. Do not try to remember what you can write down, do not clog your memory with unnecessary information. Get a notebook for such notes, and life will be much easier! Write down everything about your plants, from the names, short rules of care to the dates of sowing seeds and the timing of germination. Each pot should be labeled with a label where you indicate the name, age of the plant, the date of the last transplant.

Plants, full of health and pleasing to the eye with fresh herbs and flowers, extinguish negative emotions. The pleasure of daily communication with them is the key to a stable good mood. Good luck to everyone, and let the flowers in the house give only joy!
