Within the framework of the IV exhibition "House and Garden", which took place at the end of March in Moscow within the walls of "Crocus-Expo", another international open competition of exhibition gardens "Fashion for the landscape. A garden for a star. This bright event in the world of Russian design can be compared to the world famous Chelsea Flower Show in miniature. To the attention of visitors and a competent jury consisting of Chairman John Brooks - a recognized master of landscapes from the UK and four more members - landscape architects and designers from Russia, were presented 16 different gardens dedicated to the stars of Russian show business, television, art, sports - Igor Bobrin and Natalia Bestemyanova, Larisa Verbitskaya, Boris Grebenshchikov, Dmitry Dibrov, Anton Privolniy, Viktor Rybin and Natalya Senchukova, Nikas Safronov, Oksana Fedorova, Ville Haapasalo,Chulpan Khamatova and Dina Korzun, Arina Sharapova, Valentin Yudashkin.

The Grand Prix of the competition was awarded to Ecopoil for the work “Garden on the Roof of a Metropolis”, dedicated to Dmitry Dibrov and designed in a minimalist style with a predominance of white, red and green colors. A special prize (personal choice of the chairman of the jury) was awarded to the work of Natalia Kaminska "The Shadow Garden" dedicated to Valentin Yudashkin. Here is how the author described the concept of this work: “The life of every person is so fleeting that it can be compared to the shadow of a tree at noon. She is like a thread in the canvas of the life of the universe, which must take its very important place."

In the Conceptual Garden nomination, the first place was awarded to the Tvoryuki team for the composition "Japanese Garden in the Russian Spirit" dedicated to Nikas Safronov, which is a dry garden of stones and sand with metal fish and crocuses placed in it. The second place was awarded to the work of Irina Belogrud "On the Edge", built on the contrast of black and white, living and inanimate nature, dedicated to Oksana Fedorova.

In the nomination "Garden in the national style" the first place was awarded to the duet of Evgeniya Nikitenko and Milana Sushchinskaya for the composition "Interaction of the Elements" dedicated to Anton Privolnoy, which contained water, air, fire, earth and various plants. The second place was taken by the landscape studio "Green Hand" for the work "The Appearance of the Muse" dedicated to Valentin Yudashkin with a podium terrace, a rotunda gazebo, mannequins-frames for plants, a very beautiful skirt-train of hydrangea inflorescences.

In the nomination "Art and Landscape" the leader was the Artzona design studio, which created in the exhibition pavilion the garden-installation "LEDdian", dedicated to the skaters Igor Bobrin and Natalia Bestemyanova and executed in a restrained cold color tone with an imitated ice surface made of LED (LED) lamps. The second place was taken by the studio "Architecture of living form" for the original composition "The ball flew away", dedicated to Arina Sharapova, the basis of which was made up of the author's balls from dry branches aspiring upward.

I would also like to note the restrained-severe winter-spring composition "Waiting for the Garden"; the work "Garden of My Dreams", in the compositional solution of which there is a harmonious union of the artist's intention and the creations of nature, complementing and reinforcing each other; Japanese-style laconic and aesthetic work "Garden-Simple", which outwardly resembles a lantern made of a wooden frame and rice paper, inside which there are water, stones, gravel, moss, irises, cherry blossoms; the project "Elegant Provence" imbued with the French spirit; The works "Sunny Rain" and "Garden of Childhood" which delighted the youngest visitors of the exhibition.

Next year the exhibition will celebrate its first anniversary, so an even greater variety and a high level of projects are expected.
