Video: Creating A Crop Rotation At Their Summer Cottage

Having worked in the garden for several years, I have repeatedly noticed that gardeners often prefer to place vegetable and berry crops in the same beds (onions by onions, carrots by carrots, "strawberries" (garden strawberries) by "strawberries", etc.). This approach is permissible only in relation to potatoes and tomatoes, and then only if they did not hurt anything.
In other cases, repeated sowing and planting are not desirable, since they lead to the accumulation of infection in the soil and soil fatigue - the accumulation in the soil of certain organic substances secreted by the roots of plants, which in high concentrations has a depressing effect on plants of this family. In this case, soil fatigue should be understood as an increase in the created allelopathic regime, which may be unfavorable for one culture, but favorable for another.

Therefore, it is advisable to alternate crops in time and in space (by years and beds), also to observe crop rotations (in large areas there can be 2-3 crop rotations), and crops that do not occupy an entire bed should be planted with others in the aisles, taking into account allelopathy, which can be both positive and negative.
They have a positive effect:
Parsley - for peas, tomatoes, leeks, strawberries.
Onions - for beets, cabbage, lettuce, carrots.
Dill - for potatoes, onions, lettuce, cucumbers.
Garlic - for cucumbers, tomatoes, strawberries, including "strawberries".
Affect negatively:
Dill - carrots, tomatoes;
Onions - for beans, peas, strawberries.
As for crop rotations, when compiling them, in addition to allelopathy, it is necessary to take into account the susceptibility of crops to diseases, especially agricultural technology, the demands of crops on moisture and soil fertility. Therefore, there is a whole list of good acceptable and unacceptable predecessors for most cultures. Since the preparation of a crop rotation takes a lot of time, I offer ready-made crop rotations.

Potato crop rotation
- Mid-early potatoes + winter mixture (rye + winter vetch) stubble.
- Winter mixture for green fodder or green fertilizer + summer planting of early-maturing potato varieties (Izora, Udacha, Zhukovsky early or others).
- Early potatoes + stubble sowing of white mustard on green manure (plowing in autumn).
- Potatoes mid-season and mid-late
