Where to go in case of illness?
Of course, we all know that advertising is advertising, but it is better to be treated "by acquaintance", so talk to your friends, relatives, acquaintances who have already turned to veterinarians, which of the specialists they trust, which clinic they advise to go to. If you do not have such acquaintances, then choose a large clinic where it is possible, if necessary, to immediately do an x-ray, ultrasound, tests, so that later you do not go to several different places. You can also form your opinion by the way you talked over the phone. The professional speaks politely, asks the owner about the condition of the animal in order to form his own opinion and give the best advice (hurry up or take time, go by yourself or it is better not to move the animal in this situation and call a doctor at home, what first aid can be provided, and so on), but does not diagnose or prescribe treatment over the phone.
How to properly care for a kitten in the first 3 months of life?
The best thing for a kitten is to stay with mom as long as possible (at least up to 1.5-2 months). The cat feeds the best, necessary and useful food in the world - mother's milk, teaches to wash, go to the toilet, play. If for some reason the kitten is left without a mother, then it is necessary to feed it with special cat milk substitutes or low-fat cow's milk (for a glass of milk on the tip of a knife of honey and a quarter of a beaten fresh egg). For the first 2-3 weeks, feed every 2-3 hours, including the night, then you can gradually start taking a longer break at night (only one night feed). Don't be too zealous - the daily dose for a kitten is 30-50 ml, so it can only suck 3-6 ml at a time. Normally, a well-fed kitten immediately falls asleep without looking up from the nipple. The opening in the nipple should be such that the milk comes out drop by drop rather than flowing out in a stream. Make sure that the hole is not blocked.
Too large a hole will cause the kitten to choke. Too narrow a hole means that the kitten can swallow air. After each feeding, you should lightly massage your tummy and ass to facilitate bowel movements and urination. By the month you can feed less often - every 3-4 hours and gradually introduce the first complementary food - special food for kittens (canned or dry) or chopped fresh beef. Further, the kitten must be accustomed to the type of feeding that you want to adhere to in the future.
When the baby began to move around the apartment, you must immediately show him the toilet. Babies usually recover almost immediately after eating, before that they attach themselves, spin. It is advisable to seize the moment and put the kitten in his tray. In case of success, be sure to praise. So that the kitten understands what this tray is, take a piece of paper, wet it in a puddle made by the baby, and put it in the tray.
Also, from the first days, teach your baby to various procedures - wipe the eyes, clean the ears, measure the temperature, comb out. Without a special need, you do not need to be zealous, just teach your pet that these procedures are not sophisticated sadism, but a common thing.
More often, more often about castrated animals, their feeding and treatment! There is nothing special in feeding and treating castrates. Apart from the inability to reproduce their own kind (although they can even have sex in some cases), they are normal and healthy. It should only be remembered that castrates are more prone to obesity, which already leads to urolithiasis, constipation, liver problems, shortness of breath and similar problems. Don't overfeed your animals !!!
