The Flowers Expo exhibition pleased florists with new varieties of beautiful plants for bouquets

For the third time, at the beginning of September 2013, the international exhibition Flowers Expo, which is gaining momentum, has gathered participants and guests on the territory of the Moscow exhibition center Crocus Expo.

In the past year, on an area of about 15 thousand square meters, stands were presented by almost 500 participants from Russia and 25 other countries (Austria, Belgium, Great Britain, Holland, Germany, Israel, Italy, India, Spain, Kenya, Colombia, Portugal, Turkey, USA, France, Ecuador, Japan and others). For three days of work from 9 to 11 September, the exhibition was attended by almost 14 thousand visitors from 30 countries and 80 regions of Russia - from Murmansk to Sochi and from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok.

Justifying the name of the exhibition, almost all areas of the floriculture industry were presented at it: cut (mainly represented by the recognized queen of flowers - the rose), floral accessories, landscape design, potted plants, planting material, seeds, bulbs, soil, fertilizers and other agricultural chemicals, greenhouses and equipment for them, books and magazines on the subject, related products.

The business program turned out to be extremely rich: during all the days of the exhibition, numerous seminars, master classes and presentations were held. Also, within the framework of the exhibition, conferences were held on the topics: "Innovations in the production and sale of flowers, seedlings and planting material", "Floriculture in Russia: state and development prospects."

Within the framework of the exhibition, the 14th open championship of Russia in professional floristry "Russian Cup - 2013", organized by the National Guild of Florists, was held, the winner of which was a florist from Moscow Zoya Norbutaite. By the way, on the eve of the Winter Olympics in Sochi, the championship was held under the motto "Goals, emotions, achievements on the way to records!" In addition to the championship itself, for professionals and fans of floristry, there were several show shows by domestic and foreign masters of composing compositions from flowers and other materials. On the final day, an international floristic show of the famous Moscow florist Araik Galstyan “Fashion Day of Top Floral Design” was held with the participation of floristic stars from other countries.

National expositions of Holland, Colombia and Ecuador - the leading suppliers of cut flowers to the Russian market - turned out to be especially large and colorful stands at the exhibition. Denmark, Poland, Taiwan and France also presented their national expositions.

At the stands of the exhibitors (including the leaders of the domestic market), visitors had the opportunity to get acquainted with both old, already well-proven goods, technologies and varieties, as well as new products. At a separate stand were presented the world selection of novelties of plants for cutting, among which I would especially like to note varieties of roses with dense spherical buds (white - Patience, pink - Romantic Antike, Juliet, yellow - Lemon Pompon), carnations of the original color (green-flowered Green Wicky, lilac white Lavander Blush, raspberry white Nautilus), unusual alstroemeria (white-pink-green Greenday, pink Dirty Dancing, Tiger-striped Tiger). In general, among the cut plants at the exhibition, roses were most often found among others (which is not surprising), orchids (primarily phalaenopsis), variously colored calla lilies,alstroemeria, carnations, proteaceae, hydrangeas (including the original green-flowered variety Magical Noblesse). For the first time, cut godets were presented at the exhibition.

In our opinion, Flowers Expo - 2013 turned out to be the best Russian flower exhibition that we have been able to visit for all the time. We would like to wish this exhibition project continued success and look forward to its first anniversary in 2015.
