So it's time to change the city bustle, with its crazy rhythm and heavy air, to the peace and quiet of your suburban area. How many pleasant impressions can you get from being in the bosom of nature, especially when everything around is made and grown by your own hands. It is undoubtedly hard work and great responsibility, but the rewards are well worth it.

After all, when you yourself go all the way from a tiny seed to a jar of pickled tomatoes, only then can you appreciate the importance of each stage of plant care. And you must agree that all the efforts that are systematically invested in the land, with all its plantings, are more than compensated for by the joyful moments that this green oasis gives you. How nice it is sometimes to sit on the bench at the country house, with a cup of fragrant tea, and admire the beauty of your garden in the silence of the evening summer coolness. At such times, calmness and tranquility comes, after which, with a sense of accomplishment, you can enjoy a carefree sleep.

It is very important that this state is not interrupted by various everyday thoughts and experiences, of which, unfortunately, there are a great many in our life. Therefore, it is better to take care of their solution in advance and reduce them to a minimum. One of these problems can be attributed to the care of the safety of your apartment at the time of your absence; how many cases, while peaceful summer residents are working in their garden, and malefactors enter their apartments and steal property.

The regret you feel after that is indescribable; after all, in addition to material values, the robbers take with them your memory of certain joyful events associated, for example, with the acquisition of a new TV set or a gold ring; in return, you will be left with broken locks, windows, doors and bitter disappointment.

To be confident in the integrity of your apartment, you must first of all be confident in the reliability of the front door. It is she who will block the path of the bandits and stand up to protect everything acquired. Currently, there is a huge selection of entrance doors, different not only in price, but also in other parameters. In order not to get lost in this sea of choice, you need to understand what certain characteristics of the door affect.

The front door is, first of all, a security element, which is ensured by the strength characteristics of the door itself, as well as by the reliability of the lock. Taking into account that a door without locks cannot be called secure at all, we will begin the explanation with them. Currently, there are various modifications of the covering elements, differing not only in the way they are opened, the coding system and the degree of burglary resistance, but also in appearance.

There are four main groups of devices that can be used to open and close locking systems:

  1. Keys and parts of mechanisms (turntables)
  2. Identification means (magnetic cards, electronic key-chips, reading bioparameters)
  3. Remote devices (radio channels, key fobs)
  4. Other special access control systems.

The most common are locks with keys, so let's take a closer look at their structure and how to protect them from burglary. The most common of them are cylinder and lever locks.

Lever lock is a lock, the secret of which lies in a set of shaped plates (levers), folded tightly together; each plate has a cut of a certain curvature inside (for moving the strut of the bolt shank) and outside, in which the key bit moves. Each protrusion or recess on the key beard corresponds to the shape of the cutout on its intended lever, and at the moment the key is turned, it shifts it in a given direction. When all the plates are in the right position, a space is formed inside them, clearly suitable for the passage of the stem of the bolt of the bolt, which is shifted by a spring mechanism in the desired direction and fixed there.

As a result, the crossbars move out of the lock and the door closes. The secrecy of the mechanism depends on the number of levers and their shape. From 2 to 16 inserts can be used. This lock is one of the most reliable, it is almost impossible to open it with a set of master keys.

The main method of criminal opening a door with a lever lock, which can be feared, is burglary. At the moment of forceful action on the door, i.e. when trying to squeeze it out, provided that the lock is closed at all turns, the crossbars can break out. This becomes possible because when the lock is closed for the full number of revolutions, there are practically no crossbars in its body, they are fixed in the door frame, and at the moment of forceful pressing they are simply turned out of the lock.

This misunderstanding can be avoided by following a few rules:

  1. If your lock has 4 turns, then it is advisable to close it by two, so that the system is integral and equally protected. If the turns are 2 or 3, then most likely this model of the lock already provides for a bolt stock, and it must be closed completely.
  2. When choosing a door model, you should pay attention to the steel segment that closes the gap between the door leaf and the frame - the so-called "outer porch". Its normal size is 10mm. The porch protects the door from being pressed in, which in turn will keep the lock.

A cylinder lock is a lock, the secret of which is a cylinder ("larva"); Nowadays the most popular are "pin" locks, the mechanism of which is triggered when the pins of a strictly defined shape, which are in the cylinder body with tapered recesses on the key, match. The number of combinations in such locks reaches several billion. The keys to them are produced using a laser or perforated cards, which makes it problematic to duplicate them without a punch card.

In general, a cylinder lock is similar to a lever lock, so it is also one of the most reliable; but in comparison, it reveals one additional vulnerability that can give an additional chance to an attacker when trying to get inside - this is knocking out the cylinder. The cylinder is bolted into a groove in the lock body, but with a strong point impact on the cylinder itself, it may split right inside the lock, at the point where the fastening screw passes through it. Then the door will open without a key.

To protect the castle, consider the following:

  1. It is worth purchasing a cylinder from reputable manufacturers, this will provide a guarantee and confidence in the quality of the materials from which it is made.
  2. The lower part of the cylinder, when installed in a door leaf, must be hidden and additionally protected. For this, various reinforced armor plates, armored plates and armor plates made of hardened alloys are used. A blow to such a pad will not affect the integrity of the cylinder in any way.
  3. It is also worth paying attention to the size of the outer porch.

Many experts recommend installing two locks on the door with different secrets, or one with two secrets. The most common pair is a cylinder lock + a lever lock. Alternatively, you can use a pump lock.

But secure locks are just part of your protection. The door itself and the door leaf play an important role. When choosing a door, it is highly recommended to pay attention to the following elements:

  1. steel thickness on the outside of the door;
  2. internal strengthening of the door;
  3. loop system;
  4. locking system.

The thickness of the steel on the outside of the door should be at least 0.9 mm, better than 1.25 and fine if it is 2 mm. Some manufacturers offer door models that use steel with a thickness of 3 mm or more. The expediency of this is under some question, since the strength of the blade of 0.9 mm is more than sufficient to make it impossible to cut it quietly.

If an attacker is determined to cut your door with a special tool, then there will be no fundamental difference of 1.25-2 or 3 mm for him; Considering that such an option is unlikely due to the strong noise emitted by the cutting equipment, it makes no sense to overpay for an extra millimeter. Taking into account that this millimeter makes the structure of the door leaf much heavier, you can guess that this will have a detrimental effect on the rigidity of the structure, because the increase in weight can cause the hinged door to warp, warp or collapse over time. Internal reinforcement of the door includes stiffening ribs. The presence of vertical ribs in the amount of two is obligatory, horizontal ribs are less significant. Ribs protect the door from distortion and make it more durable.

We can say about the hinge system that the best option is when they are hidden, because this protects them from possible shearing. If the hinges are external, then they must necessarily have anti-removable pins in their design, which will not allow removing the door from the hinges when it is closed, using a crowbar or other available tool. This is achieved due to the fact that at the moment of closing the anti-removable pins enter a special groove in the hinge and are blocked vertically there.

The locking system in modern doors consists of vertical rods connected to the lock part. At the moment when you close the main lock, the entire locking system is set in motion and in addition to the crossbars of the main lock, additional crossbars from the top and bottom of the door enter the frame (with a three-channel locking system) and an additional pair of crossbars goes into the side, with a five-channel system. This further strengthens the door from being squeezed out and knocked out.

In general, one must understand that there are no unopened doors. It all depends on the desire, time and availability of the appropriate tool. In principle, it makes no sense to install a door block, whose degree of security exceeds the security of the walls. The best option is when these two indicators are approximately equal. Nowadays, there are tools that make it possible for a short time to make an opening in the concrete walls of residential buildings, sufficient to penetrate into the room. In this regard, the best protection is at the walls of monolithic houses. These are the main points that you must know in order to choose the right model for your future door. And remember that you need to take care of the door: wipe it, periodically (once a year) lubricate the rubbing elements, in general, treat the door with love, so that the operation of the front door is long and pleasant!
