In our magazine there was an advertisement of the St. Petersburg firm " Krot-EK ", in which it was a question of laying underground pipelines in summer cottages and in gardening using a trenchless method. This service attracted the attention of many readers, but not everyone understood the technology itself. Therefore, we invited the head of the company S. D. Popov to the editorial office and asked him to tell us about the work performed.

Corr.: - Sergey Dmitrievich, is the name "Krot-EK" by chance or is the direction of the firm's activity encrypted in it?

SD: - We really put a semantic load into the name of our enterprise. Many gardeners have a negative attitude towards the mole, and this is understandable. We, however, treat this animal with sympathy only for its ability to move underground. With the appropriate equipment, we can also lay various pipelines in the ground without destroying the surface. And the letters "EC" mean: EC-onomy, EC-ology; EK-exclusive.

Corr.: - Please decipher what else can you offer to the owners of country houses, estates and those gardeners who stay on the site even in winter?

SD: - So, "saving" … For example, in gardening, they decided to replace the defective surface water supply system with an underground one, so that it could be used in the cold season as well. The old water supply system was laid 15 years ago and is functioning at the very least. Its pipes run along the boundaries of the sections and, as a rule, are clamped by buildings, plantings, etc. It turns out that in order to replace it in the usual way, it must be turned off, dismantled, the necessary territory must be cleared, a trench must be dug (which means that some passages must be blocked), lay a new one, fill up and restore what was destroyed on the surface.

According to our technology: three pits are dug below the freezing point of the soil on one straight line with a distance of 50 meters from each other. From the middle pit, two-sided drilling is carried out at a speed of 1 meter per minute. At the same speed, pipes are being pulled underground from technological pits. As a result, laying a 100-meter pipeline underground, taking into account preparatory operations, will take 6 hours of working time.

It should be added to this that our equipment does not require stopping transport, shutting down existing equipment. The pipes are laid along the shortest path (under buildings, landscaped areas, roads, reservoirs, etc.). The drilling process is monitored with a scanner. And, most interestingly, you can even change the direction of the drill to avoid various obstacles.

If we compare our technology with a shot, then the accuracy of hitting a drill at a distance of 50 meters in a square of 50 x 50 mm is 100%. By the way, our equipment allows you to lay a polyethylene pipe with a diameter of up to 315 mm, or a lash of three pipes with a diameter of 110 mm.

With its help, you can also change, without opening a trench, old pipes laid in the ground for new ones. And even with an increase in diameter. Now it is easy to draw a conclusion about the economic feasibility of applying our method. Financial costs are reduced by a third.

Now about "ecology", here, in my opinion, everything is clear. How much destruction on the surface of the earth and inconvenience from dug trenches, blocked roads, etc. would have been with the old method. We have, on the other hand, 100 meters in length - one pit 3x1.5 m for equipment and 2 pits measuring 0.5 x 1.0 m for tightening pipes.

And the "exclusive" is that our approach is individual. There are various situations when the work cannot be done in the usual way. Recently, we laid a pipeline from a well to a cottage with a landscaped area and a strong foundation (1.8 m deep). It was necessary to get into the concrete basement and through the opening measuring 50x30 cm from the basement to stretch the pipe into the cellar where the pumping station was installed. We have successfully coped with the work.

And here's an example of a job in gardening. There is no "common" water in it, but the Vodokanal pipeline passes next to the highway. Only the road cannot be blocked … We calmly stretched pipes under the road …

This is one aspect of our firm's activities. In addition, we propose to get rid of excess groundwater at the site. With our help, you can not only get rid of unnecessary water, but also get an additional source in dry times. Our technology and equipment also allows you to do this work without massive excavation and unnecessary trenches.

Corr.: - And what is the cost of the work performed by your company?

SD : -Calculation of the estimates is quite complicated. It takes into account the diameter of the pipes, the composition of the soil, the depth of laying, the conditions at the place of work, the remoteness of the object from the city limits, the availability of electricity. We are ready to provide calculations for a specific object. I ask readers to call us and ask their questions. We are glad to any client, regardless of rank, and are ready to meet everyone halfway.
