Fishing Academy

The fact that in the middle of winter the activity of biting fish fades somewhat is known to many who are engaged in ice fishing. I think the skill of an angler is to catch a "gold" fish when it hardly bites. When everything is against an active bite - the wind, pressure, time and place of fishing … And how pleasant it is at this time to prove to everyone that you are the very master from whom you should learn something. This usually happens when we show our trophies to other anglers while waiting for the train. Therefore, today and in the future we will talk about this very skill, collected bit by bit.

Knowing full well that it is difficult to stir up a sleepy, phlegmatic perch in the wilderness, I offer several options for this venture. The first thing that an angler must remember and constantly improve is the play of his tackle and bait. And it doesn't matter what it is served on: on a jig, spoon or on an ordinary hook with a sinker. You should have a lot of options for playing the jig. The frequency of oscillation and the speed of the rod is the key to your success on the ice. I always say to novice anglers: sitting by the hole, mentally imagine the position of your jig there, in the depths of the water, at the bottom and above. And having presented, start the game with a fishing rod. Create the excitement of the game, the pace of a certain chase, slowing down and speeding up the game with a jig - and the perch will not survive. One of your options will definitely be optimal, and the predator will rush to prey. Maybe, this will not happen immediately, but the game with a variable pace must be continued until successful.

An experienced and avid angler will not invoke luck or luck while fishing. Create this luck yourself. Remember and write down your successes and failures, which tackle is better for catching, in what weather and in what place. All this is important.

The next component after playing the jig, I would call the jig itself (spinner). What is it like with you?

For many years now I have been fishing an additional rod. On it, my new jigs and methods of leading them are tested. If the jig is successful, I try, having studied all its parameters and shape, to reproduce a successful specimen. For an unsuccessful product, I change the design and bring it to mind.

I understand that not all fishermen can make their own spinners and jigs. Then you need to refer to the assortment offered by the trade. Now on the shelves of stores, there are enough tackles.

Success in fishing depends on many things. One way or not, he tied the jig, another made the length of the leash, changing the possibility of oscillations of the jig. Change the weight of the jig, its shape, color and position at the start of the game. All this can be checked at home in a three-liter jar of water.

I myself prefer small silver jigs in the wilderness. Long-term observations have not convinced me of the benefits of a tungsten jig. Slightly more sagging of the vein - that's all. But small silver jigs have a very good perspective. Especially if you are not lazy to look for and find new forms of it. Here I have achieved some success, and have proved it more than once in competitions.

The third component of success is the bait and the choice of the fishing spot. I can say with confidence that non-standard fishing options very often bring success.

Perch loves to stand by the rocky ridges above the sandy and pebble bottom. A small red dung worm may well replace bloodworms, it happens, and with a more significant result.

At this time of the year, I prefer "sandwiches" on the hook. A piece of a worm and a bloodworm, or a bloodworm with a burdock moth larva. And another tip: do not take aromatic compounds (oils) in pharmacies. They are prepared there with the addition of alcohol. And the fish doesn't like it.

In conclusion, I would like to remind you about water safety. The first ice is a joy for many of us. I would like to give some advice to those who are out on the ice that has not yet matured. Try not to be influenced by the crowd. It happens that the leading, but inexperienced fisherman assures: "It's okay, guys, the ice is strong." And the whole group starts to believe him. But we must remember that in the morning the ice can withstand you, and in the evening, returning, you can fail.

When fishing on thin ice, cut down and take with you a 5-6 meter long pole as a fulcrum when returning. It is advisable for each angler to have 8-10 meters of strong cord with him, and at the end of it tie a small "cat" (anchor with sharp paws). Throw this anchor to a failed angler (without it, the cord may not reach, blown away by the wind). In this case, it must be said that the anchor is hooked on the clothes. Exhausted, having lost hope, he himself may not get out on the ice, but having managed to hook the anchor on his clothes, he will not go under the ice.

Try not to leave the trampled path to the "virgin lands", where there are no traces of anglers. Dangerous icicles powdered with snow, caught in a weak frost. While walking on thin ice, stretch the rope and hold onto it at intervals of 3-4 meters. It is advisable to have a mobile phone with you and know the phone number of the Ministry of Emergencies

If you fell into the water and made it to the shore, do not despair. Remove everything from yourself, hiding with a film from the wind. Dry grass, spruce branches, spruce branches light up immediately. Squeeze out your shoes, push dry grass there and put on your shoes again - and run to the nearest housing.

Some people take life jackets with them when they go fishing on the first and last ice. They pass dangerous sections of the path in them. Take care of yourself! Remember that at home they are waiting for you.
