Fishing tales
With a company of seven people, we fished in the Gulf of Finland, near Vysotsky. Towards evening, while two of our comrades were setting up the lines, baited by small crucians, Oleg and I started fishing with rods for fish soup. After the exhausting heat of the day, the peck was bad. We sat for over an hour, and caught only a dozen perches and roach, and a small burbot. I must say frankly - not at all a lot.
While the oldest of us, Nikolai and his son Alexei, were cleaning the fish, the rest were sitting by the fire.
- I love it when there is a pike perch in the ear, - Vadim said dreamily, looking at the merrily dancing lights of the flame.
- Pike perch ennobles the ear very much: it gives it a delicate, pleasant taste, - Igor supported him.
- So you yourself would catch zander! - Oleg could not resist.
- You can't even dream … - Igor smiled.
Nikolai interrupted the conversation. Having gutted the fish from which the fish soup was to be cooked, he reasoned:
- Perhaps, our brethren are not enough. Sasha, - he turned to me. Go see the lines. Maybe something has already come across. I need at least one more fish … I got into the boat, found the stake, for which the end of the nearest line was fixed and began to pull it out. I went through almost everything, but everything was empty. Finally I felt that the line was twitching and started working with my hands faster … And after a few moments I pulled out a kilogram burbot. Since no more was required for the fish soup, he again lowered the line into the water and hurried with the trophy to the fire.
- Well, - my comrades humorously drawled, - I could bring something else: we already have burbot … We would, for example, be a goose!
I just threw up my hands, they say, the rich they are, so they are glad … Meanwhile, gutting the burbot, Nikolai turned to us and, looking at Igor and Vadim, exclaimed:
- Blimey! You guys are very lucky … Look, what was in the burbot's womb? - and he showed three pike perch, fifteen centimeters each. Apparently, the predator just recently swallowed them, because they were completely intact.
- As ordered … - Oleg was surprised. I wanted fish soup with pike perch, and so, please, get it … It's amazing!
And who after that dares to assert that there are no miracles on fishing? There are also some, and the story with pike perch is a clear confirmation of this.
