Greening the entrance is much easier than it seems at first glance. However, you should not take out small pots into the entrance at the beginning of the experiment. It is better to transplant rapidly growing plants into a large container.

What can serve as a large planter? Personally, I used ten-liter square canisters cut off in the upper part, left over after repairing the entrance, I took the yard from under the acacia, humus and sand. Large buckets can be purchased in the market (bulk dairy vendors often sell empty buckets for 10-15 rubles). Large pots will not be taken away to apartments, and you can water the flowers growing in them much less often.

Since our entrance is northern, rather cold and densely populated with cats and dogs, so chlorophytums did not take root in it, but reo, zygokaktus, little one, deeply dissected Kalanchoe (deer horns), scarlet and the Decembrist feel great there. These flowers grew rapidly, and within three months the stairwells resembled a greenhouse.

I noticed one interesting trend: the higher the floor, the higher the air temperature there in winter. Therefore, it is better to plant cold-resistant plants on the lower floors, and heat-loving flowers on the upper floors. On the site of the ninth floor of our house, a neighbor put up a rather large five-year-old hibiscus and, despite my skepticism, this plant not only survived in the winter, but also bloomed beautifully since March.

Of course, you can experiment with any flowers, but you still need to remember that the entrance is not an apartment … A noble desire to decorate a windowsill with violets or gloxinia, as a rule, leads to the death of these fragile plants. Also, do not buy too expensive or beautiful pots for landscaping the entrance. It is best to use mayonnaise buckets, white sour cream jars, or disposable cups for small flowers. This will not only optimize costs, but also reduce environmental pollution.

To prevent your neighbors from confusing pots with urns, put a can for cigarette butts on each windowsill and throw the first cigarette butt there yourself. Remember that you can leave bottles of water near flowers only if the flowers are hygrophilous: for some reason, at first, every self-respecting tenant considers it his duty to water the plants near which there are bottles. In conclusion, I can point out another interesting fact: a daily walk up the stairs of a nine-story house for watering plants allowed me to lose two kilograms of my weight in just a month without any diets.
