Corridors in standard city apartments tend to be small, dark and cramped. But this is not yet a reason not to green them. True, plants for this should be selected with special care - extremely hardy, not spreading, upright species, mainly ampelous or climbing decorative leafy.

All this flora is placed on shelves, or in hanging pots, and also tied to supports. In addition, in the corridor, more than anywhere else, temporary landscaping crops are appropriate - flowering potted plants that look like elegant bouquets, bloom for quite a long time and, after wilting, are thrown away forever. These flowers include, first of all, calceolaria, Persian cyclamen, poinsettia the most beautiful, white-stemmed primrose, schizanthus vizetonensis, bloody groundwort.

Dark green varieties of Cretan pteris look good and do not require a lot of space, enlivening the interior with their lacy foliage. You can hang it from the ceiling or put it on a shelf with a centipede leaflet - a beautiful ampelous plant.

A plant that is universal in all respects is common ivy. It grows beautifully almost everywhere and fits into any decor. In dark rooms where there is no natural light, a light planter will suit the ivy. All together will bring colors and life into a cramped small room.

On the shelf near the chest of drawers, amelopsis will be quite appropriate, the whips of which will hang down. In addition, such conditions will successfully tolerate aspidistra high and crested chlorophytum, as well as various varieties of pylaea.

There are large plants that can quite successfully live in the semi-darkness of the hallway. For example, rhododendrons with dark green leathery leaves, Sello philodendron, climbing philodendron and blushing philodendron (the latter two species can trail up the supports in a very decorative way).

A fairly persistent plant - a delicacy monstera. Its large glossy green leaves with large cutouts and numerous light brown rhizomes make an excellent impression. Neighbors of monstera can become tetrastigma Vuanye or Cape Rocissus.

Two more little-known, but very ornamental plants that can survive in corridor conditions are Fatshedera Lise and Gelksin Soleirol. Both of them grow straight, stretch in height. Their glossy green leaves decorate the dark corners of corridors.

When combined with cute copper, brass and chrome planters, dark green plants look particularly attractive. White and light yellow planters also create a striking contrast. It is good if the color of the planter matches the color of wallpaper, paths or wall hangings. Then the corridor turns out to be not as gloomy as we are used to seeing it!
