Our competition "Summer Season"

Last year I went to an exhibition in the Eurasia Cultural and Exhibition Center and just got to the awards ceremony for the participants of the Summer Season competition announced by the Flora Price magazine. I met the participants of the competition. Became interesting. I bought the magazine, found out the details of the competition and decided to participate next year.

And when that season ended, I thought: do I have anything to tell other gardeners? And I decided that this year also brought something new, some kind of horticultural discoveries, pleased with the harvest. Why not tell others about your successes, especially since it meets the conditions of the competition.

We have six acres, like most owners of suburban areas. We have been mastering them for over 20 years, the site is located in the Petrokrepost area.

As with all gardeners, it was very difficult to start building and developing land. But the very first thing I did was plant apple trees and bushes. Since that time, much has had to be updated, old varieties have been replaced with new ones, but one Wellsey apple tree still pleases me with its beauty and yield every year. That season, I harvested almost 150 kg of beautiful, bright, sweet and sour fruit from her. And they are stored until March. For example, on New Year's holiday, my apples were an excellent decoration for the Christmas tree and a treat. Our family is very fond of apple pie, the recipe for which I want to share with the readers of the magazine. I think that the hostesses will delight their loved ones with a delicious dessert.

So, you need 2 glasses of granulated sugar, 6 eggs, 2 glasses of flour - beat everything. And add 800 grams of crushed apples. Bake for 40 minutes. Enjoy your meal!

Of course, I love and take good care of the apple trees, I do not forget to fertilize them, whitewash the trunks and water, I carefully follow them. I also want to share with my readers my secret, how I grow apples, which show funny faces - children love them very much. But adults are surprised too. I usually make a sticker and attach it to the apple about a month before harvest, when it is still green. And with this decoration, it remains until cleaning. The apple ripens, turns red, and then you remove the sticker from it, and a pretty face remains on its ruddy side. Try it and you will be delighted with an interesting, funny and tasty apple.

And I planted cabbage under the Welsey apple tree that season. Since the site is well fertilized, the cabbage has grown excellent. We were especially pleased with the varieties Kazachok, Blizzard - this is white cabbage. And red-headed varieties Mars M. S. The most beautiful cabbage was the Kalibos variety, this was the first time I grew up. By the way, as it was indicated on the package with seeds, this is the first and only cabbage in the world with conical heads.

Of course, besides apples and cabbage, I grow various greens, vegetables, berries, many flowers, but I prefer perennial crops, since I don't have enough time and energy for everything.

Also, every year I plant cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, I try to change varieties, but I grow these crops in large buckets, because there is no greenhouse on the site. I plant seedlings in large containers in the spring and keep them in the house, and when the threat of frost passes, I take these buckets to the sunniest place. And so I get a harvest that is enough for salads. I use the fruits directly from the bush. Check out the photos. They will complement and confirm my words. I want to say that I work with pleasure on my hundred square meters, and every year I look forward to the start of a new season, a new harvest. Indeed, in addition to work, life in the country gives interesting meetings, communication with neighbors and friends. We always have something to tell about, and, of course, we share our experience, seeds, seedlings.
