Alternative to the chemical method
After harvesting and the plants themselves in greenhouses, it is often recommended to disinfect the soil with copper sulfate. It is used in the form of an aqueous solution, as part of Bordeaux liquid and other drugs against downy mildew, late blight, spot and bacteriosis.
Copper, as a trace element, is necessary for the normal life of plants, but it is one of the highly toxic (poisonous) metals and, with a slight increase in its content in living organisms, harms them. Despite this, many gardeners still process greenhouses and greenhouses after harvesting with copper sulfate in order to destroy all infection both on the surface and in the soil, spending 50 or more grams of copper sulfate per bucket of water.

Although recently it has been recommended to direct its solution at the rate of half or one tablespoon per 10 liters of water. Nevertheless, scientists from Moscow State University found that the abuse of copper sulfate halves the respiration rate of the soil, increases the release of nitrous oxide into the air by 2.5 times, and makes phosphorus and iron less available to plants.
Shock loads of copper disrupt the interaction between macro- and microelements, disrupt nitrogen exchange in the soil and inhibit the activity of soil microorganisms, upsetting their balance, which leads to a significant increase in the proportion of harmful organisms.

How to get rid of the accumulated infection?
It is possible to improve the soil in the greenhouse and on the site as a whole by regulating the ratio of living organisms in the soil by increasing the proportion of beneficial microorganisms by introducing good compost, using green manure and microbiological preparations, such as Baikal EM-1, Alirin-B.
During the studies and observations (since 1998) of the application of the microbiological fertilizer Baikal EM-1, scientists noticed that it increases the species diversity of soil microorganisms, suppressing the development of pathogenic ones, relieves soil fatigue (which is especially important for permanent crops: for example, in greenhouses and greenhouses for tomatoes and cucumbers).
With its help, the microbiological activity of the soil is enhanced, which contributes to an increase in the amount of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium compounds readily available to plants and a decrease in the toxicity of aluminum, iron, and manganese. For prophylactic purposes against diseases, the drug is used in autumn after harvesting and in spring on wet soil, but no later than 7 days before planting. It is diluted in a ratio of 1: 100 (1/2 glass per bucket of water), consuming 2.5 l / m².
The use of the drug allows not only to improve the health of the soil, but also to increase the availability of nutrients contained in the soil to plants. For the same purpose, the biological product Alirin-B can be used both in pure form and in a mixture with Baikal EM-1. Such disinfection of soil with biological products is also recommended to be carried out in the open field after harvesting plants.
Copper sulfate as a means of protection in its pure form is best used for disinfecting wounds and bark of fruit trees, and for spraying as part of a Bordeaux mixture, and as a fertilizer (trace element) at a concentration of 2 g / l.

The soil consists of a mineral and organic phase, soil air, solution and a living phase (organisms that live in the soil). You need to start improving the soil from the living phase, as the most dynamic and most vulnerable
Soil Care: Liquid Phase Or Soil Solution
There is almost no free water in the soil - it goes into the depths. And what is, is not absorbed by the root: plants are not a pump. It is absorbed by the roots exchange on hydrophilic colloidal particles, like other nutrients
Soil Care: Feed The Soil, Not The Plants
Many people think that plants need to be fed and watered. But this is unreal! Plants do not have a special organ to absorb food and water. Plants feed on the basis of metabolic absorption, not absorption
