Our dacha is located in the gardening "Union" of the "Lekhtusi" massif, on the shore of the lake. I really love my dacha, my plot and my house. And when someone says with chagrin and sadness that again we have to go to the dacha to plant, weed, water, mow, then I just feel sorry for such people. They have a dacha, but they did not understand at all what a blessing it is, what a success.

For me and my friends, dacha is a way of life. On a plot of six acres, I definitely grow cucumbers, since you can't find better than my own, salted in well water and left in the basement until autumn. Only in the country can you fill jars of cucumbers with a large amount of dill, garlic, various leaves, and I also definitely add red currant berries for taste and better preservation of pickles.

I plant onions, as we all love to eat them green; garlic - after all, almost no pickles, especially mushroom ones, can be made without it, and there are a lot of mushrooms in our forests.

But most of all I like to grow zucchini, squash, pumpkins. And they love me. Every year I choose a new variety. It can also be decorative pumpkins that decorate the kitchen all winter. Last year, from two seeds of watermelon zucchini I received about twenty zucchini of the same round, aromatic and with black seeds. On the site, like on a melon, there are lashes of minke whales. I choose varieties of different colors, shapes and sizes.

Holidays are held in our gardening every year. Gardeners bring their novelties and wonders to the exhibition. In addition to flowers and vegetables, we also demonstrate handicrafts from them at the festival. For example, in one season we grew a zucchini weighing more than 5 kg, and the grandson represented it at the holiday, turning it into a shaggy boy with a tie, and the next year, the grandson made a sailboat from a zucchini and presented it at an exhibition of children's crafts. And in vases of squash and pumpkins you can see not only flowers, but also taste various salads.

And flowers, berries - how can you live without them in the country? When I show photos of my site, they ask me: "And besides flowers, do you have anything growing?" Of course, a lot of things grow: sunflowers, dahlias, escholzia, foxglove, peonies, irises, lilies and many other flowers flaunt in different parts of the site. And there are enough garden strawberries to eat enough and make some preparations - basically I freeze the berries. I grow varieties of Sudarushka, Zenit, Detskoselskaya and others. It is always very pleasant to serve juicy, beautiful berries on the festive New Year's table, which were kept in the freezer until that day, or to congratulate your colleagues on March 8 with fragrant strawberries.

Many flowers, lilac and jasmine bushes that adorn my site were presented by friends from the gardening of Radofinikovo, Pupyshevo, Sinyavino, the villages of Dynamo, Pyazelevo and others.

In the college where I work, many of us have their own plots, and we organize exhibitions of vegetables, photographs, bouquets, and treat colleagues with our preparations on Teacher's Day. An association of amateur gardeners has been working for us for several years. We exchange seeds, seedlings, experience. And the initiator of our meetings is a very enthusiastic, interesting person N. V. Denisova is the winner of the All-Russian competition "Russian Garden - 2005".
